Biography

Jin Kuijie was the first son of Jin Wenzheng, Emperor Chun. His mother was Xie Yahui of the Yiqi Xie Clan, posthumously titled Noble Consort Gongsu.

His mother's connection to the Cultivation World meant that Jin Kuijie began learning the mystic arts before the age that tutors introduce the subject to imperial family members. His lineage also guaranteed him access to clan secrets: sword and energy array techniques that he otherwise wouldn't have been permitted to learn.

In Zhuangwu 18, conflict broke out at the northern border. Due to his maturity and strategic acumen, Jin Kuijie was able to convince their father to grant him the Shou princedom and allow him to march into battle. One year later, he died at Shengli Pass. Official records state that he died in battle, though the date listed falls after his true time of death.

Prince Ren of Shou enjoyed spending time with his younger brother, acting as both a confidant and teacher. The two often sat in the gardens together, discussing the Classics, composing poems, and sharing dreams for the country's future. He passed his cultivation knowledge on to Naeris — both martial and mystic teachings — that weren't Yiqi Xie Clan secrets. When Naeris was feeling up to it, the two would even do some light sparring.
