Profile
Helena Cadieux
Overview
Helena Cadieux was the quiet kid growing up, rather than playing with the other kids she would tuck away in the corner with a book and bury herself away in the pages of whatever she could get her hands on. Books in other languages are her favorite, she loves a good translation challenge to test her knowledge. She has very low patience and a slight temper when her buttons are pushed.
Helena, or so affectionally called by Dante, Hell's Bells grew up in a wealthy well off family in Red Grave City. Her parents serving under Lord Sparta she was exposed to the world of angels, demons and everything in between at a very young age. During the fall of Sparta her family home was also attacked, demons looking to take out any supporters they could. Helena's father gave his life so that his wife and Helena could escape.
Ubi amor, ibi dolor. Where (there is) love, there (is) pain.

Demeanor
When Helena gets anxious, nervous or is unsure about something she paces and bites her nails. If she's thinking super hard about something she zones out and chews on her bottom lip. Bouncing her leg is another habit, wether relaxed or not shes always bouncing her leg.
Helena isn't exactly an expert in communication, not often wanting to speak about how she feels. But when she does she chooses words very carefully and speaks in an exacting way. When she starts info dumping on a subject she can get ahead of herself and start talking too fast.
Her love language is gift giving and quality time. She is an A+ gift giver, putting a lot of effort and research into the gifts she buys for people. Christmas is her favorite time of year, while shes not good at verbally expressing how she feels her emotions come through in her gifts.

Childhood
- An astute child, loved to read.
- Did everything she could to make her parents happy.
- A big daddys girl, adored going into her dads library.
Helena's childhood was simple for the most part, she was a quiet kid that loved to study, read books and play with her friends Dante and Vergil. She didn't have any friends besides the two due to her parents keeping a low profile amongst other people due to the nature of their work. But they loved their only daugther endlessly. She did whatever she could to please her parents, especially her dad.
Tragedy struck the Cadieux mansion late one cold November night when demons attacked the house, looking to wipe out anyone they could that had anything to do with Lord Sparda. A fire ripped through the entire house, destroying everything in its wake. In a blind panic her parents scooped up little Helena shoving a tightly secured fanny pack into her hands and rushing her out the closest window. They pleaded for her to run to saftey, "You know what to do honey! Please go! We love you so much!" Without thinking, she took off for the Sparda home, hoping it wasn't too late and she could find saftey there with Eva and the boys. Sadly that had not been the case as when she arrived, demons and fire had already made wreckage of the giant home and Eva lie on the ground lifeless. Helena scrambled to help the woman, but it was already too late. "Helena honey... Dante's in the closet, you've got to hide. Please honey it will keep you safe." the dying woman choked out, "please go before its too late."
Teenage Years
- Very closed off and kept to herself most of her teenage years
- Recived a large inheretance from her parents, never spends it.
- Used reading and learning languages as means to escape her thoughts.
As Helena grew older, she used books as an escape more than ever. She went on to college to earn her degree in Linguistics. She stuck with Dante after the events of the fire, every once in a while reciving a letter from Vergil. She kept the letters in a small box under her bed. Her late teenage years were pretty uneventful for the most part.
After some time, those letters completely stopped coming and Helena lost all contact with the broody demon. This broke her heart even further and she found solace in Dante's company, often coming in to help him in his shop, translating any strange books or paperwork that happenend to make their way into Dante's hands.
Adulthood
- Finally came to terms with everything that had happened.
- More than ever became involved in Dante's business Devil May Cry.
- Developed a bit of body dysmorphia.
As Helena aged, she tried her best to come to terms with everything that had happened to her as a kid, and tried to heal from the heartbreak that Vergil had left her with when he fell into hell. She helped out at Dante's business, helped Allison out at her bar, ran information when she could and just did everything in her power to keep herself busy to the point where she would overwork herself and collapse.
Helena is a damaged little girl at her core, some days are better than others but she does still struggle with her trauma. Some nights she kept awake by nightmares of her parents burning, plagued by night terrors of watching Vergil's body fall backwards down the waterfall into hell, remembering her and Dante's outstretched arms towards the falling twin, the cries of his name dying in the inky blackness of the netherworld. She finds a lot of comfort in being around Allison and Dante, and is rarely ever alone.

Skills & abilities
Noctua
Noctua was a gift from Nell Goldstein, famous gunsmith and Nico's grandmother. Helena would run Nell useful information as needed and one night that information happened to save her shop and her life. Nell gave her the beautiful gun as a thank you gift.
Frostbite
Frostbite was a gift Helena recieve from Vergil when they were young. "You fidget too much." he told her handing the pearl handled knife. While she prefers to use her gun, she keeps Frostbite with her everywhere she goes, usually tucked into her pockets or in the front pouch of her bag.
Kanashimi
Helena has a complicated relationship with Kanashimi, given to her by her father after she gushed to himabout how "Mr. Sparda gave Vergil a really cool sword!" The sword is tainted with sad memories of her deseased father and the friend that she thought was going to be by her side forever. She uses the sword only when necessary.
Dante is, as begrudgingly as she is willing to admit it, Helena's best and closest friend. The grew up together as very young kids, meetin each other through her parents, who served as Lord Sparda's informants.
Despite Helena's annoyance at Dante's antics, they get along really well, and have great chemistry together. She trusts him implicitly.
Helena used to be as close to Vergil as she was to Dante as kids, but he betrayed her trust and threw everything away when he summoned Temen Ni Gru and destroyed over half of Red Grave City.
She always had a special sort of affection for Vergil, the two having far more in common than her and Dante. They would steal away together in his father's library to scour the bookshelves for anything they could get their hands on. It destroyed Helena when he chose to stay in hell after her and Dante's confrontation with him after the Temen Ni Gru was destroyed.
Allison and Helena met in the Red Grave Library, the awkard girl approaching Helena while she had taken over an entire table with her college studies. "Y-you look stressed? Are you okay?" Helena hummed under her breath and looked up at the girl with a sad smile, "I've been through a lot the past few months..."
Helena has the utmost respect for Allison and everything shes gone through, she is absolutely obessed with Allison's weapon "Divine Deck" which is her throwing tarot cards. They didn't start off very close due to Allison's standoffish nature, but have gotten closer and closer as time as gone on. She finds comfort in her company, often having late nights on Helena's couch drinking red wine and eating food.
