Name Elise le Fey Called Elise, Elliot, El
Age 19 Gender Gender-fluid
Origin Dragon's Domain Race Human Mage
Role King Alignment Neutral Good
Status Active/Alive Theme Spaceland by chloe moriondo

A human mage with a ridiculously large pool of mana and a penchant for magic, El used to spend their days studying until they were pulled into a world of magic and mystery- a realm of dragons. Going from a mostly isolated teen to the ruler of a new world isn't exactly easy, as now they're struggling to balance romance with the affairs of beasts that most mages thought to be long dead, will the new King be able to handle?

El isn't exactly what most people would consider a people person, they were raised in mostly solitude, spending most of their time in the company of people who were either much older then them or alone. They tend toward solitude and the quiet, preferring to spend most of their time reading, researching, or learning about new spells instead of out and about. In the mage world, things that are wrong by the standards of humans are acceptable under certain circumstances, meaning they can a have a bit of a skewed sense for morality at times as well. Despite this, they're incredibly polite and well mannered, a natural at diplomacy and governing who has taken rather well to the role of settling disputes between the two factions, or at least better then most teenagers would. Contrary to their perceived maturity, they become deeply irrational when particularly emotional, disregarding what may be the right decision in favor of a solution that 'feels' better to them, and they also have a hard time dealing with irrational or emotional decisions from other people, as most people they know are fairly logically-minded.

Born with an anomaly in her magic circuits, El has a massive potential for magic that allows her to accomplish a variety of high-level spells usually done by experts and maintain and keep up multiple spells at a time.

Shapeshifting

Strength:
One of her more commonly used magic forms, El has limited control over her physical form which she uses to shift her biology to match her gender, alleviating dysphoria.

Strength:
Another of her well practiced magics, they can summon and create familiars of varying rankings including mystic animals, supernatural beasts, humanoids, and even the rare heroic spirits.

Elemental Magic

Strength:
While she spends most of her free time honing new forms, she has already delved into most of the elements including fire, water, ice, nature, and wind with a brief foray into light-based magic.

Summary

El was created originally for an RP called Dragon's Domain that I'm doing with two of my friends. In the world she becomes the King after the previous ruler dies because in order to select their King they find the human with the strongest magic in the land. Of course since I made them originally for that one roleplay they weren't as developed as I would have liked them to be, but gradaully I've been fleshing out their character to the point where I actually really enjoy them now :). At the time I was still a bit on the fence with my gender, but genderfluid with a female lean seemed to most fit me, so that's pretty much what they are- which is why I will often use she/her rather then they/them. Anyway let's get into a brief history including some stuff about the new world she finds herself in...

Brief History

Canonically, she was abandonded shortly after birth, taken in by a mage who goes by the name Teresa le Fey, in reality her given name is Medea but she introduces herself under the moniker because names have power and she has many enemies. Born biologically male, El had a rough time with early schooling due to bullying, and gradually withdrew into herself until she moved into homeschooling after elementary school. As a mage, Teresa's values are a bit skewed toward magic rather then the traditional upbringing, a hard but not harsh woman, El had to grow up quickly despite the world of wonder that surrounded her. Magic came to her easier, so Teresa gave her more, pushed her harder to become the best she could be. With a virutally nonexistant social-life outside of your adoptive mother, she had nothing to focus on but learning magic, so she quickly racked up specialties in areas of study before moving to the next. One day began to bleed into the next, and before she knew it she was an adult, inside her tower of a castle where she had want for nothing but longed for something more, something else.

Enter Knull and Damian, two humanoids with an unusual signature who had managed to make it around her many safeguards into her residence. Knull made short work of explaining the situation by transforming, showing off the long thought to be dead species, dragons. After that it was practically a whirlwind of new and excitement, El was whisked off to the parallel world of Dragons where she settled into her role of King rather easily, almost as if she had been born for it. They needed someone to rule, and she wanted to do more with her life then just collect magical knowledge in a a dusty room all her life, the arrangement was perfect for them. Of course, things weren't perfect forever. As she began to get into things, she was thrown for a loop at the appearance of a faction that intends to overthrow the monarchy as a whole, citing the humans as a plaque that had lulled dragon-kind into docility. The leader of this faction was none other then the twin brother of her guard Knull- a man named Clyde. Then, in the strangest place, love sprouted up between her and Knull, a relationship not forbidden by the monarchy but still not exactly the ideal as her goal was neutrality between the factions. What else is in store for our King?

The World

Dragon's Domain largerly takes place in the world of dragons. In this world, dragons originally were a species that did not have a humanoid form- only their typically large and imposing form- but did have a variety of types they could be from wingless to scaly, even aquatic dragons exist. Long ago they obtained a way to turn into human form, solving their issue of space that came with the expanding population....yet they still seemed to quarrel. Out of this quarrel two factions rose up, the "Good"(Placeholder) and "Evil"(Placeholder) factions. With no real way to settle their differences, they turned to the world of humans and sought out the strongest magus- at the time a young wizard by the name of Merlin- and made them the first King. The Monarchy was established to settle any and all disputes between the two factions in a way that would allow for neutrality and impartiality. The only problem was that because dragons had greatly extended lifespans, their 100 years were much closer to a human's decade in development, they would have to find a new King every time the magus of the time-period died of natural causes or whatever it may be. Thus, the monarchy was born.

In the human world however, things are a bit different to our own. For one magic exists in the way that it can be practiced by mages, or people with magic circuits. Magic circuits refer to lines in the soul that connect that allow as pathways through which magic energy is generated, typically the more of and more complex, the more/higher level spells you are able to execute. "Normal" humans have little to no capacity for magic, but long lines of mages typically have better magical circuits. The masses are not aware of the fact that magic exists, whispers of magical incidents are quickly crushes by the hidden society that is mages as a whole, leading to the most common rule in their society being that you should never let a human know about your abilities unless you plan to marry them. This is where their "interesting" moral code comes in, as they have no issues with murder, ex torsion, blackmail, or other acts considered heinous if it protects their interests or continues to conceal their society. Other magical beasts do exists, and they too have their own societies and ways of keeping themselves hidden to go along with it. The last thing of note is that as a whole, magic is gradually declining in practice, many of the families that typically contained mages of valor now have many with little to no potential for magic and less circuits.
