-More commonly spotted in Salmon Run than Turf
Leo came about by his species feeding off of Cephalopods during the flooding. They too became "afflicted" with the urge and desire that made their prey seek out life on land in the first place, causing the same spontaneous evolution. His species isn't commonly seen due to their dietary habits (it's very off putting for a lot of people) so Leo is one of the only of his kind located around Splatsville and the Splatlands.
Despite the history of his race, Leon feeds solely on fish and can most commonly be seen in the Spawning Grounds due to this. Leo has been temporarily banned in the past for over feeding on Salmonids, putting Grizz' business at a potential risk but has recently been re-allowed for work.
Unlike his Cephalopod neighbours, Leonardo isn't vulnerable to water but has to be in Lamprey form in order to traverse it, leaving him arguably more vulnerable than he would have been on land. Leo is naturally unable to attend turf due to a lack of ink but loves to spectate them like a true sport.
Leon uses his own abilities during Salmon Run and is usually called for work during times where the Salmon population has grown to what could be overwhelming numbers to narrow them down a bit.
