Basics
Goddess of time and light, Aletheia has existed in many different timelines, but currently resides as the Matron Goddess of Old Barzona. She represents beginnings (birth), while her counterpart, Vhazmir, represents ends (death). Her realm is the aether, or upper atmosphere.
Aletheia is a whimsical, warm, and maternal goddess. She is connected to a variety of different deities and realms but, from her seat in the upper aether, she primarily serves to nurture and oversee the flow of time and, by extension, life itself. She helps orchestrate the celestial bodies (and the change between night and day) in her connection to the passage of time.
Her sphere of divine influence includes the elements of memory, rebirth/redemption, and the winds of change. Moos will often pray to her when seeking forgiveness or positive change in their life! Symbols associated with her also include orange roses, sundials, and pear trees. Aletheia's feast day is January first, the beginning of the year!
Though not intimately involved in mortal moo affairs, she is deeply passionate and protective of all of cow-kind. After all, their well-being and prosperity is instrumental to the orderly flow of the universe. She is very much amused by them, as well, and likes to watch them when she is feeling… less than entertained with her job. She will sometimes disguise herself to walk among them.
While Aletheia is known to be a peaceful goddess, she certainly has a callous side- as much as light can be warm and inviting, it can also be harsh and blinding. She is known to sometimes turn a blind eye to disastrous events, believing that some happenstances are necessary and destined to happen in the infinite timeline she oversees, as cataclysmic as they can be. She is also known to be a bit controlling, and antagonistic to those who interfere with her goals...
She wears her veil to protect mortal moos from her powerful and divine aura. It is thought that making direct eye contact with her is dangerous- at minimum, you will be overwhelmed with intense and powerful (and even crippling) emotion, or at worst, you can plunge deep into an immediate and irreversible madness. In this, she will often stare just beyond those she speaks with, looking just over their shoulder...
Though one of her primary themes is the passage of time, she cannot see the future! This is partially why she is so obssessed with maintaining order (and mitigating chaos), in order to produce the most effective and efficient future possible for all life, so that it may continue to exist and she will continue to have a purpose. She is also only able to see moo’s pasts when interacting with them. She will occasionally ask Vhazmir as to what they have seen possibly seen, and is secretly disappointed when they refuse to tell her time and time again.
