Hecate

Hecate was born to a young woman who had nightmare for her first dream. The dream was of walking through a forest filled with an ominous red light, and the feeling of dread and hatred that filled her heart was indescribable. Hecate's ‘birth’ was marked by her dreamers twisted dream cascading, having her fall until she was rudely awakened. In that moment, she knew that her Kyome had been created.

As Hecate gained more control over her management of dreams, she discovered that she had a talent for granting nightmares. She found that she enjoyed creating the most twisted and terrifying dreams, delighting in the fear and panic that she could instil in her dreamer. Her dreamer, a young girl named #?£%#, suffered through countless nights of terror as Hecate brought her worst fears to life.

As Hecate continued to age, she became more and more ruthless in her pursuit of creating nightmares. She would often push her dreamer to the brink of madness, revelling in the power that she held over her. #?£%# became increasingly isolated, unable to share her fears with anyone, as she knew that Hecate would only use them against her. But one night, something changed. As Hecate began her usual nightly routine for her dreamer, when she suddenly felt a surge of empathy for her dreamer. She saw the pain and suffering that she had caused, and it filled her with a deep sense of shame. She tried to ease #?£%#'s fears, but it was too late - the damage had been done.

She had found that #?£%# had taken her own life. The weight of guilt and grief crushed down upon Hecate, and she felt as though her very soul had been shattered. She withdrew from the world, no longer being able to complete her purpose of granting dreams. She became cold and numb, unable to feel anything but the crushing weight of her guilt. After the tragic loss of her dreamer, Hecate was consumed by a deep grief that threatened to engulf her. In the days and weeks that followed, Hecate withdrew from the world, consumed by her grief and pain. She wandered the forests and fields, seeking solace in the natural world around her. But no matter where she went, she could not escape the crushing weight of her loss. One day, she collapsed in a field, her body wracked with sobs as she wailed out her pain and sorrow to the uncaring sky.

As she lay there, she felt a sudden urge to cut her tail. She didn’t want to die herself, she had to try to move on. Her tail had once been long and flowing, a symbol of her connection to her dreamer. But now, it was a painful reminder of all that she had lost. With trembling hands, she took a sharp rock and sliced through her tail, cutting off a large section of hair. This act was a signal to all other Gaidinians that Hecate had lost her dreamer. It was a solemn reminder of the bond between a Kyome and their dreamer, and the deep pain that came with its loss. Hecate felt a sense of relief as she cut off her tail, as though she was shedding a part of herself that was no longer needed.

But even as she did so, she knew that she was adrift without her dreamer. As a Kyome, she was bound to a single dreamer for her entire life. With #?£%#’s death, Hecate's purpose in life was gone, leaving her struggling to find a new meaning and direction. She began to repress the memories of her dreamer, in a desperate attempt to help her move on with her life. It didn’t entirely work, but Hecate did manage to forget her dreamers name, easing the pain a small amount. As time passed, Hecate began to slowly emerge from her grief. Though she still struggled with finding a new purpose in life, she was determined to find a new path forward. Over time, Hecate had become known as a cruel and sadistic Kyome, feared, and reviled by those who knew of her past.
