Wealthy, charming, beautiful, clever… Teddy is a girl who seems to have it all. Her attributes have been solely defined by other people’s reactions to her; she inspires attraction and admiration as much as hatred and envy, but not many people, not even those closest to her, actually know much about her outside of rumors and their preconceived notions of Teddy, and that wasn't on accident. Teddy exclusively portrays her personality differently depending on who she's with, perfectly suited to fit the desires of whoever she interacts with, whether that be sweet and innocent or assertive and confident, but what lies underneath, at the core of it all, is an exorbitant amount of competence.
When the story first begins, Teddy is seen only in conjunction to other popular kids at her academy, as every aspect of her life, including her social life, has to be impressive. The one exception is Aria, who is always glued to her side and follows her every command. Teddy's relationship to Aria functions as a foil to Ashley and Sying's relationship, as well as foils for their respective roles in the story. Teddy is not only commanding and power-hungry, but manipulative as well, and while she's not always bad, it's these traits that make others who get too close dissappear from her life. Despite having it all, what she cannot keep is friends who genuinely like her.

"Best friends"
Aria is Teddy's best friend and right-hand gal, who will always do whatever Teddy asks of her (even if it is humiliating). Despite people's assumptions that their dads both having competing companies and them both attending the same academy are the only reasons they wound up being friends, that's far from the truth. Aria was the first person to be interested in knowing Teddy genuinely, not just as an icon or someone to gain something from. Teddy insists that she is doing Aria a favor by being so close to her, due to her popularity, but she actually needs Aria even more.
