Armaros

It's not hard to imagine why Armaros is not the most beloved of Angels. Despite their efficiency, they are infamous for their tendency to disobey orders, especially when they come from the Council, for their violent approach to most situations, or for their near-constant lying to get what they want. They're well known as one who hates being told what to do, who fears punishment much more than most else, but who doesn't let any of those things stop them in their track.

And yet, it wasn't always like this, not at all. While forgotten by most, some still remember a completely different Armaros, much kinder and loving towards everyone, especially towards humanity.

That Armaros probably got lost in the deepest circles of Hell, who knows. One could look for it, maybe, but that would not be Armaros. Besides, if it's been down there for so long, it's probably not coming back anytime soon.

"There's not a specific one, I tell many... But, if the Council's asking me something, I'm not telling them the truth. Not the full one, at the very least."

He mostly lies about actually behaving properly with the Council. He won't report fights he gets into with other Demons, Husks, Machines or other Angels, especially if he's not injured. He also lies a lot about the time he spends in Hell and about what happened to his arm, wing and eye.

"Other see Heaven's biggest asshole, of course. Me? I see all the hatred burning from the depths of my soul against everyone else, and how much more I've realized."

It thinks of itself as some sort of elevated being, superior to most other Angels. At the same time, when left alone with his thoughts, insecurities and doubts will shine through. He knows he's going down a wrong path in his own way. He doesn't really want to change it, though.

"Wow, you're actually asking that. To me. I thought it was obvious."

There's no way they would run away from a fight. Hell, sometimes it doesn't even need to be challenged: he'll be the one challenging you, and refusing is often not an option with him.

"The closest thing to Death anyone will ever directly face, a feared and respected fighter, a huge nuisance to the Council... I'd say I am."

He's not that proud of himself, actually, but he tries to convince himself of the opposite.

"There's no use in fearing yourself, is there?"

Seeing themselves as an avatar of Death is not that healthy, but they enjoy the feeling of power.

"One where I can just fight others until the bitter end without the Council and Gabriel bothering me for everything I do."

His enjoyment of extreme violence is somewhat worrying. He also really does not like authority and being told what to do, and unless it's Ramiel telling him something, it's quite hard to get him to listen. If it's Gabriel or the Council, he's not listening, period.

"I don't know. Adriel and Ramiel just had something in them, I guess."

Genuinely has no idea why he fell in love with Adriel, or why it hurt so much to lose him. For Ramiel, it's a platonic relationship, but she always supported them despite everything, and it's grateful to her.

"I'm never forgiving that motherfucker, plain and simple."

They don't like discussing Diomedes, but they don't want to forgive them at all. They're still incredibly pissed off about the way he mocked them and him stabbing their eye out, even after all this time has passed since Odysseus and Diomedes were executed.

"Not until the Council is in charge."

He knows God is dead and he knows the Council is hiding the fact. He doesn't want to reveal it, in hopes of, one day, being able to overthrow them in some way, possibly by committing treason and killing them all. They actually gain some respect for Gabriel after he does that exact thing.

"The Leviathan almost murdering me. I'll go back and get kill it, someday..."

The incident that caused their arm and wing to be damaged was a fight with the Leviathan, where they almost drowned, crushed by the souls. It's also the reason they're afraid of large bodies of water and of Wrath specifically.
