Appearance
Oval, friendly looking face. Around 185 cm tall, wide shoulders and a somewhat strong build. Dark red hair and beard; hair going from short above ears to 'long enough to put in a small ponytail' and a very well kept, trimmed beard. Freckles across his nose, shoulders, chest and arms; somewhat faded and smudgy, but still definitely visible. Blue eyes; though sometimes drawn with heterochromia blue/brown eyes because reasons. Regardless, his eyes tend to be very intense and cold and his eyebrows are very expressive even if the rest of his face isn't.

Story
Originally from Brittany, born in mid 1700s. Met his partner Max through studies in Paris. They took some part in the revolution, being young, liberal nobels, but got out of France at the end of 1700s.
They worked closely together, Augustin being a historian and Max a linguist, with several overlapping interests, and began their research of immortality together. Geist, or at this point Oszkár, turns up as a person of interest and they rely on his notes a lot for their work, but are unable to track him down together.
Eventually, their research leads them to a series of rituals relating to the sun. They work, but get out of control. Augustin lives, having made an unusual and particularly powerful deal with the sun itself keeping him alive, but with a catch and a cost; the former being giving up free will and having to serve the sun, and the latter, more devastatingly, being Max' life.
Augustin spends decades and decades earning some sort of trust and leniency with the Sun so he can keep doing his own research, specifically focusing on how to break free of the deal he has put himself in, and whether he can "revive" Max or not. In the process, he finds Geist, and while he is disappointed in what he finds, to put it mildly, they team up, as they realise they can help each other - and in some ways need each other.
