G. Wyatt Mako (or simply "Mako") is a young man with a love for the high seas. He is a determined lad who wishes to make a name for himself by becoming the greatest explorer the world has ever seen! Mako is from a long line of nautical explorers and prides himself in that fact, wishing to live up to the Mako name by becoming a legend. Mako has a big heart and is always looking out for the little guy, the big guy, or anybody in need of assistance. Because of this, he is well liked by many and has already made somewhat of a name for himself. Despite this, Mako doesn't have a lot of friends, just admirers. Mako has a soft spot for familial bonds and friendship. But don't be fooled, as he is not easy to persuade into trust. It's probably what makes the bonds he has more special to him. Mako is always putting others before himself; it's what he believes is the quality of a true idol. Most of his struggles revolve around him feeling inadequate or insufficient- coming up short of a victory. But his compassion has got him far.
When it comes to relationships and bonds, Mako holds a one-sided rivalry with Lotte Valte. Every time they cross paths, he makes it his mission to surpass her in any fashion, however, Lotte always triumphs no matter the challenge. Despite this desire to win, Mako has a deep respect for Lotte and actually idolizes her. On the other side of things, Lotte simply views Mako as a good friend that she personally wishes to connect with. The two of them appear to have a great friendship outside of this rivalry, constantly having each other's backs and doing small favors for one another. Mako's desire to surpass Lotte partly comes from him wanting to prove himself to an adventurer that he views as one of the greatest. How sweet!
