Profile

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION:

Short but very lean, Wesley stands at 5'5". He has a modestly darkened complexion, that is marred by disfiguring burn scars along the left side of his face, throat, and torso.

His squarish face sports narrow, hazel eyes; the left of which is rendered pale, disfigured, and blinded by scar tissue. His hair falls in short, unkempt brown locks over thick eyebrows.

 PERSONALITY:

Wesley is an ornery, and emotionally distant sort. Having lived in seclusion for much of his life, he values his personal space, and avoids obligation and moral responsibility like a plague.

His outwardly hostile demeanor and lack of desire to engage in verbal discourse, even when prompted, belies his compulsive loyalty and desire to do right by those who afford him genuine kindness.

BACK STORY:

Wesley arrived in Pontis under undisclosed circumstances. How long he had been living within the slums of The Underbelly is unknown, but word of the soothsayer had certainly found it's way around as the years passed.

The nature of his business was only known through rumors that varied greatly; many of which painted a shady, often lecherous and conniving picture of the man shrouded in smoke.

He would be sought out only by those who had no one else to turn to; pleading to hear rosy forecasts of their future, hoping that a solution to their predicaments would spill from the Soothsayer's pipe and be made apparent for them.

They were often left disappointed; but the soothsayers predictions are never false.

ONGOING STORY:

After a peculiar visit from a Pillar disguised as an alms giver, the Soothsayer finds himself plagued by intense and invasive visions. A ghostly owl, formed of smoke with eyes like embers, haunts him; leading the soothsayer out of consciousness and into a ashen dreamscape where indecipherable narratives play out before him.

He blames the Pillar for these intrusive apparitions, and upon her third visitation, he turns her away. She suggests to him that if the apparation followed her from the Citadel, then it might do well to return it. She extends an offer to have him stay in The Citadel as a member of her charge if he promises to continue providing her with forecasts of the future.

Reluctantly, he agrees, relenting to Niyati's uncompromising will. But with little else to help himself by, there wasn't a whole wealth of other avaliable options.

The ghostly owl leads a tumultuous chase that drags the Soothsayer in over his head.
