All things end, all things burn to ash. But you, my friend, burn bright.

Stormr's first non-orphan kits in a long while, Morrigan expects great things not only of herself, but the world around her. She expects her fire to burn for many cycles to come.

To be described as an ettin would likely discredit Morrigan, even for all its connotation. A giant mountain-dweller, she lives with the belief that Odin bestowed her the opprotunity to be closer to the northern lights and Valhalla by placing her atop the world itself. She's deeply proud to be a Stormr cat, and would devote life and limb to her city.

In a lot of ways, Morrigan takes after her mother, even if not intentionally

Morrigan sees the world through a strangely mature lens, despite her young age. Born in a time of crisis for Fryrstheim and Stormr, she is no stranger to turmoil. In fact, Morrigan often believes she is able to thrive in it. She’s competent in her actions and understanding of her surroundings, moving through chaos with finesse and grace. There’s something about the heat of conflict that is like a flame to Morrigan, and though never directly one to bring upon an argument, she finds fervent satisfaction from havoc. This is absolutely not to say that Morrigan herself is chaotic. In fact, she is anything but. Morrigan holds herself to the highest standards, poised and composed throughout most situations. There’s a burning ferocity to her elegance.

With her father being a teacher, Morrigan too is a studious cat. Her interests are plentiful, and intense, the sort of cat that soaks up any information one cat can provide her. It’s clear she holds her own intellect in extremely high regard. Because of this, Morrigan tries her best to be pragmatic. She values efficiency and practicality over many things, and will often try to persuade others to go about things the same way. This is unfortunately rather hypocritical of her, as Morrigan herself is burdened with explosive emotion, even though she is loath to admit it. While on the exterior, it appears as if nothing could phase her, Morrigan is oftentimes simmering with intense feeling. It isn’t a common occurrence, but there are moments where she works herself up into a blowup, and she’s hard to calm down until she tires herself out.

Beyond this, Morrigan is rather hedonistic. She takes a great amount of pleasure in self indulgence, and enjoys adorning herself with pretty (or intimidating) regalia that she feels makes her feel more alluring and mysterious. To add to her indulgent streak, Morrigan takes great pleasure in good foods, and lavish comfort. Ferocity doesn’t end at a bit of opulence, after all. To the unsuspecting feline, Morrigan may also come across as callous in her reasoning and behaviour. She speaks with confidence, and can present herself as dismissive or harsh to cats she isn’t familiar with. Furthermore, Morrigan has a defiant attitude to concepts that she doesn’t particularly agree with. While not truly a troublemaker with authority, she has no issues making her own opinion known, and will use her smarts to back up what she considers is right. Morrigan has no fear of backlash, though she does believe in respect, regardless of opinion.

Morrigan struggles with her temper a fair amount, prone to meltdowns over things that don’t necessarily call for it. The way she can display her meltdowns do tend to vary, sometimes going deathly silent and sulking like a petulant child, or resorting to full blown hysteria. The latter is often rare, and doesn’t make itself known to many. Only those who can truly get under her skin. Morrigan sometimes has a hard time not having control of a situation. She loves playing with her siblings, but she loves playing with them on her terms, most of all. She enjoys classes and learning, but struggles with letting other cats take the reins sometimes, somewhat of a know-it-all herself. If she believes another cat is getting more attention over her, she’ll grow a little frustrated, and even try and steer the conversation into something she enjoys. This also means that she can feel overbearing to some, especially those she loves. Morrigan does very little “half way”. When she feels close to a cat, that cat will definitely know. It’ll take a chisel to separate her from them. This also means that secretly, or perhaps not so secretly, Morrigan is deeply affectionate towards her family and loved ones. Even when it's a little suffocating for the other party.

Beneath her generally composed and ostentatious exterior, Morrigan worries. Quite a bit. Her flawless nature is constantly under self-scrutiny, niggling at her insecurities consistently enough to be a burden. A cat such as herself cannot hold such high expectations without some discomfort. Anxiety, often about her appearance, her words or any other number of things, hangs over her mind like a cloud. The bar for perfection is rarely ever low enough for Morrigan, and while others may not hold her to it, part of her will always expect them to.

TRIVIA
  • Morrigan smells of early morning mist, and the faint smell of ozone, like the moments just before lightning strikes.
  • Her birth rune is Perthro - "Pertho is translated as a vessel, something that can be filled. It also represents fertility, chance, and mystery. The rune indicates powerful forces, such as fate, at work. It is the most mysterious rune, and is unclear due to fate and coincidence. It is a rune of chance."
  • Morrigan spends much of her time at the highest reaches she can manage within the mountains. She is deeply infatuated with the northern lights, and often atributes their beauty to Odin.
  • Due to the nature of her birth rune, Morrigan is deeply invested in fate. She believes that if something is meant to be, then it will be. One cannot bend their fate, nor know the infinite mysteries the Gods hide beyond, and it is important to take what you are given in stride.

  • WORTH your life

Like most of her family, and most of Stormr, Morrigan’s pelt is extremely dense and fluffy. Considering how frigid the mountaintops are on any given day, it’s a necessary burden to bear for her. The fur around her neck is almost mane-like in how thick it is.

She’s unmistakably large, a towering presence to most of her city-mates, but it’s blatantly obvious she’s taken a large amount of time to control her movements and her spatial awareness. Despite her stature, she’s pointedly graceful.

Morrigan has mostly white fur, with misty-grey tabby patches scattered over her pelt, including half of her face. She has hair ties to collect the large amounts of fur on her cheeks, which she’ll sometimes pin behind her ears. She’s never seen without a raven’s feather earring, a gift from Ivar upon her birth.

As all Stormr cats do, she has pale grey eyes, and dark sclera.

 father -

Morrigan would rely heavily on her father for a lot of her emotional needs. She doesn’t like being emotionally vulnerable with just about anyone, and while perhaps never being fully open about issues she’s having, she’d seek out Ivar to try and answer the difficult questions. Morrigan knows that her father is extremely smart, he wouldn’t be a teacher if he wasn’t, after all, so she tends to have full faith in whatever he tells her. Morrigan trusts Ivar to the moon and back, and even if she isn’t always direct about what she’s thinking, Ivar is the first cat she’d find to help her through something. Morrigan wants a name for herself in Stormr, but more importantly, she wants a name that would make Ivar proud.

 surrogate mother -

In cursus nisi ac eros convallis, at fringilla purus laoreet. Morbi pretium gravida lacus, vel tempor libero interdum et. Integer pellentesque pretium dolor vel eleifend. Vestibulum ornare id eros id rutrum.

 younger brother -

Dagfinn is, of course, the little brother of the litter. Morrigan’s temper has a habit of being tested, especially with her littermates, but there’s no question that she loves them vehemently. Being the middle child, Morrigan is no stranger to hair pulling or teasing, and will partake in such things herself if she feels rambunctious enough, and occasionally will slip into the habit of acting smart with her youngest brother. What’s the point of a baby brother if not to do a bit of torturing? Morrigan has a hard time accepting blame, but she knows when she takes it too far, and will (sometimes, a little begrudgingly) offer apologies to Dagfinn in the form of trinkets, or hoarse words. Apologising is hard, you know?

 older brother -

In cursus nisi ac eros convallis, at fringilla purus laoreet. Morbi pretium gravida lacus, vel tempor libero interdum et. Integer pellentesque pretium dolor vel eleifend. Vestibulum ornare id eros id rutrum.

 uncle -

Morrigan respects her uncle a great deal, and is often hovering around him when she isn’t with Ivar. She is deeply invested in his rank as a Royal Guard, and will ask plenty of curious questions about the position. She knows how much Uncle Orm means to her father, which seems to reflect heavily on her own opinion of the tom. In her eyes, Orm could do no wrong.

 relationship -
