- Pippets! Absolutely adores all critters.
- Sparring.
- Gemstones. Will sometimes keep exceptionally pretty rocks he finds.
- Peace and quiet. Enjoys reading in silence. He never gets much quiet time though.
- Not being in charge. when he meets up with someone of the same rank as him, sparks usually fly.
- losing, he's quite skilled in combat and prefers brute strenght. He doesn't lose often.
- Small narrow spaces. He's claustrophobic after a past incident.
- Overly sweet things, but will drink hot chocolate for his Pippet who loves the whipped cream.
Auraq was raised in the Brouzet desert, living in a rather large strata of mining Vespires that live there. There he was a miner as well, a very welcomed job since Vespires eat and collect gemstones. These gems would be traded with Pouflons, or eaten. In truth, Auraq would rather have been herding adorable pippets as a job. But everyone minded and he was very well build for mining work, so he naturally got involved in mining.
The ground in the Brouzet desert however, proved to be a lot less stable then in the Ebony Wreath. And one day it collapsed while Auraq was underground. His tail, wich used to have a shaped tip at the end, got crushed and he lost the shaped end of his tail. He tried to get out of the tunnels, but it had all collapsed and he got stuck in the narrow spaces. He was left there for pretty much a whole day. When they finally dug him out he was almost immidiately put back to work by the Vespire that oversaw them. But Auray would never go in those tunnels again, and he left his Strata.
He ended up working for Aelius. The leader of a band of thieves. Aelius initially hired Auraq since he was very strong and intimidating, and since Vespires naturally know something about gems. But Auraq proved to be much more then just a buff Vespire. He saved Aelius's business with his knowledge of gemstones and warned him when gems were fake, or not of the value his business partner promised him. Thanks to his expertise he was left in charge of Aelius's own miners and was used as a gem evaluator for everything they stole. And he was promised that he never had to get in the mines himself. Now he oversees all the workers that mine for gems, and he will fight anyone that threatens their business.
- He has his own Pippet named 'Floofy', a small Cinnabun. He loves the critter to death and will defend it, even when it's painfully obvious that the mess was Floofy's doing.
- The scar on his shoulder is because of the cave that collapsed on him, but the one on his eye is from a fight with Aenon.
- Even though he looks like a brute, he's actually a softie. Would pet every single Pippet out there and defend smaller Pouflons, Vespires and Ursukis with his life.
- He still carries his pickaxe from his days as a miner with him. It's now attached to a chain, making it possible to swing it for maximum reach.
- Auraq snores REALLY loud.
Coworker/rival
Aenon
Auraq didn't like Aenon from the first time they met. They both have a leading job under Aelius, this causes them to fight every chance they get to establish their position and show the other who's boss. Auraq also finds Aenon's personality loud and finds his flirting obnoxious. Even his Pippet, Floofy, hates Aenon.

Aelius gave Auraq a job when he had nothing, and so the ex-miner respects him immensely. They get along really well, although they don't have much conversations. Thier talks are usually short and to the point. Aelius has a lot of faith in Auraq and trusts him completely when it comes to gemstones. Auraq is quick to reconize fake or low value gems.
