Mosskit and Ashkit were born to two well-respected warriors. After moons of famine, the Clan were desperate for new warriors, and had high hopes for the pair. When they were apprenticed at six moons old it became apparent that Mosspaw's quiet personality and penchant for day-dreaming made her less of a warrior, and more a liability. This would culminate in the tragic death of Mosspaw’s mentor, who died to save her from an eagle when she had been too distracted to hear their warning. As a result, Mosspaw was ostracised by many of her clanmates who blamed her for the incident, and she became even more withdrawn and rarely spoke to anyone but Ashpaw. While Mosspaw continued her training, the clan's expectations fell solely on Ashpaw.

Despite her sister's talent, and Mosspaw's quiet support from the side-lines, Ashpaw would crack under the strain of her clanmate's expectations and intense daily training. When Ashpaw disappeared from camp Mosspaw instinctively knew where to search for her sister on the territory border. After tearful goodbyes, and a promise to return someday, Ashpaw -renouncing her apprentice suffix and using the name Ash, turned her back on the clan with Mosspaw being left to bring home news of her sister's departure.

One moon since Ashpaw's desertion, Mosspaw's been coping with the loss by hunting and patrolling alone. She doubts she'll ever have such a strong bond with another cat, but has resolved to look after her remaining family members.

Mosspaw is eccentric and wise beyond her years. She is generally polite but reserved when communicating with others. Her voice is low pitched and she usually speaks without intonation.

She's a dilligent worker, but often finds herself losing focus as her mind wanders. On patrol, she'll always take the scenic route, and stops to inspect anything that interests her. Mosspaw struggles with social situations, as her bluntly honest statements can be offputting to others, and she sometimes fails to convey her true feelings. She can't lie to save her life.

Though she doesnt engage in gossip, Mosspaw's quiet nature often results in her eavesdropping on others. She knows half the clan's darkest secrets, but swears it's by accident.
