Born in Snowpoint city, Marisa wasn't quite like everyone else growing up. This difference didn't make others dislike her or even shun her, it just made meeting others a lot more difficult, she was a mute. Though others would try to befriend her and were very nice to her, it was still very difficult to really connect with them or even get to talk to them, seeing as not many seemed to know sign language. As she grew up she never thought she felt unhappy about her life, she graduated from school, got a masters and became an accountant by the age of 25.
Though very happy with her life decisions, and just way of life in general, she always seemed to have an underlining feeling in her. She wouldn't ever say she was unhappy, or that she wanted more, but she defiantly seemed to want something more. During a vacation to the Alolan region when she was 44, She had found herself sitting on the beach later in the evening close to the water, enjoying the breeze and air of her surroundings. Her thoughts had cleared, and all her emotions were settled. Being alone with just her thoughts and such a calm nature made her realize the problem she has that she couldn't pinpoint before. Though she was happy, and felt loved, she wished she could actually talk and interact with others, no, with everyone.
She is pretty shy, due to not having a voice in her past life, however she doesn't know that this is why she's so shy. She's not entirely confident in the way her voice sounds or just how she pronounces things in general
She's very quiet, usually forgetting that she can talk. She can have a very professional tone to her sometimes, usually when it comes to needing to get something done. She's very generous to others and really enjoys being shown affection, though she doesn't tend to show affection herself physically. When she gets to know someone she starts to compliment them a ton, and tries to help them feel good. She does tend to take things personal when she's given criticism, which will lead her to possibly crying. At first she can be very distant from others until she interacts with them at least once.
