Ophelia is a Cosmosire who used to live in hiding in Aeris with her husband and son, at least until they were forced to finally leave. They were allowed to live in the realm, but it was only a matter of time until they had to leave. Had the Leaders still stayed in power, maybe she wouldn't have been forced to leave her home. They were in the process of leaving but were caught, and they had no choice but to leave something behind.
They finally left Aeris and moved to one of the towns in Below; eventually another Cosmosire informed them of a continent where they could live without worry; they could live with other Cosmosires, and she and her family were allowed to live there as well. But she refused. She wanted to wait. There was something she refused to leave behind again.
Even if her chances were low, she wanted to at least try and wait.
