A generally kind and sociable guy, Athens aims to make every new day a step better than the last. A hard-working historian and college professor with his name published on many articles and books, Athens uses his ability to directly see into the past to learn the stories of people, objects, and places. This strange mode of accuracy has earned him a comfortable and prized position in the field, though not without some controversies. Athens hopes to spread truth about marginalized peoples and their cultures, having come from such a background himself, and he will stop at nothing to spit in the Empire's face.
Because of the hurt and traumas he's been through, Athens has not had a clean history. When he was younger, he would lash out at anyone who mildly upset him, not likely to trust anyone but his sister. It was because of this that his sister grew wary and left him, leaving him alone to face his problems and learn from his mistakes. Though he strived to improve his behavior, he still wishes for validation, and his vindictive behavior still persists even if infrequent.
Athens walks a middle road of feeling the need to conform while wanting to continue to be his own person. He understands it was the only option for him to survive, but he grieves over the loss of his identity. He's very proud of his heritage, and does his best to preserve it.

Early Life
Athens and his twin sister Athena had been hatched into a Tribe of trolls known as the Vaelari. However, because the Vaelari did not comply with the Empire's demands for obedience and conditioning, the Government had given the order to wipe them out. Athens and Athena were young adult survivors who had nothing but each other. While Athena picked up a job as a bounty hunter in the guild that took them in and raised them, Athens remained with bitterness within; anyone who crossed him or his sister would be faced with not just his wrath but, with the use of his ability to manipulate time, would be forcefully locked in their worst memories. It often would not take much to cross him into this mood. His sister eventually had enough of their souring relationship and had grown fearful of his temper, and so she left him to make a new life in the Capital city.
A Rash Mistake
Athens fell into ruin. He was bitter and mad at everyone and everything, and the world around him was too heavy and grey for him to get out of bed. His fury grew when, much later, he learned that his sister had taken a seat in Government joining the ranks of the very people who had destroyed their lives. He had resolved to join the local rebellion group, wanting to burn the Government down himself no matter who had to pay the price. It was during then that he had met his then-matesprit, but after acting impulsively on his anger Athens' recklessness had gotten his matesprit killed.
Blaming himsef for his lover's death, Athens resigned from rebel activity and spent a long time afterwards reflecting on his life and decisions.
Writer of History and Speaker of Truth
Wishing to improve himself and curb his destructive behaviors, Athens largely resided to being a pacifist. He found a love for history thanks to his time-sight powers and studied to become a proper historian. He became renown in his field and his ablity to detail uncannily-accurate events got him invited to teach at a prestigious university. He tries very hard to preach the truth in his lectures and shed light on the discrimination and prejudice the Government is known for. Though his past still haunts him and he still wishes to be validated for his hurt, he's learned to face a brighter tomorrow. With every lesson learned, he gets stronger in defending his culture and knowing how to rebuild his bridges.
During his career, a pandemic of the Dermashen Disease had invaded the Capital. Athens had gotten infected, and his condition only got worse until he was bedridden entirely in a hospital. He did not end up making it, the disease effectively killing him, but he had come back to life due to his rainbow drinker genetics.
- Blood color is #bfb7e6. Officially named "Lilacblood," a hue of Purple caste. Though it should be categorizd as "mutant," the Spectrum has not been updated with such information yet as Lilacbloods are rare, and thus he is legally considered a 'Rareblood" (cusp) instead.
- Always brings snacks for his students
- Hosts secret classes to teach the true history the Empire covers up. If caught he could get killed for this.
- Can and will trip over his own two feet
Having been there for him while Rastho struggled through an unhealthy relationship, the two are very close with a big fat pale crush on each other.
Having thought Zomson dead after a reckless mission accident, these two are amicable ex-matesprits. Past the surprise of the truth that Zomson is actually alive... in a round-about way... the two remain friends. Athens enthusiastically supports the budding relationship between Zomson and his sister.
His identical twin sister, these two have grown up together and has experienced much. Though they had separated on bad terms, they are now reunited, and more than willing to make up for lost time.
