Written Appearance: At first glance, Piper appears petite even with all her fluff that’s especially thick on her legs and ears. She doesn’t come across as strong, but for those who actually get to know her will learn she’s quite capable of handling herself. She’s not really built for speed, having short legs does give her the disadvantage of possibly outrunning danger but her shortness provides her with being able to escape to hide in places others may have a hard time reaching.

• Amicable: Piper may look unapproachable to some dogs, but she’s actually a very friendly individual. As a pup, she knew no such thing as stranger danger no matter how often her father tried teaching her. She’d simply walk up to anyone, dog or not, and try starting up a conversation in her determination to feel accepted. Now that she’s older, she’s become a bit more cautious, but still remains a social butterfly. She wants to see the good in others before assuming there’s negative intentions.

• Generous: Piper is willing to share whatever she has with others. She doesn’t mind sharing her food with others, as long as they share their food with her as well. She’s willing to give things to strangers in need and doesn’t mind others borrowing things from her as long as they return them. She tries avoiding conflict, but at the same time, Piper isn’t without independence. She’s not afraid to make a stand when she’s been wronged.

• Adventurous: Piper is a curious spaniel who loves exploring and going on adventures. During her youth, she found comfort in a routine life with little change. But after hearing stories from some street dogs, she discovered it was refreshing and thrill seeking. She enjoys learning new things and seeing what’s out there. Piper has good instincts, so she likes following her gut feeling. This makes her a risk taker who’s willing to gamble.

• Nosey: Piper has a terrible habit of eavesdropping on conversations, and sticking her nose where it doesn’t belong. She has little respect for privacy, and must figure out what’s up if she thinks someone is hiding something. The closer she is to someone, the more concerned she is regarding their affairs. Despite being so nosey, she’s actually really good about keeping secrets.

• Stoic: Even though she’s a friendly dog, Piper looks unapproachable. She doesn’t mean to, but she usually has a blank expression or resting b*tch face. Her aura comes off as serious and unwelcoming. This results with her being asked if she’s okay a lot. When there is something upsetting her, she doesn’t like making it known because she doesn’t want to burden anyone with her issues. 

• Envious: Piper is envious of those who have a close relationship with their mother. She’s always wanted to know what it’s like to have a mother’s guidance. This envy is what fuels her nurturing behavior, but deep down she worries she’ll be a terrible mother one day. Whenever she sees a mother showing affection to their child, she’ll become sad and quiet for hours in deep thought.

• Clingy: Piper is capable of surviving on her own, but that doesn’t mean she wants to. She despises not having others around, making her extremely clingy to those she loves. She shows her affection through touch, so she has little privacy for personal space. She’ll crawl all over someone and snuggle them to death without realizing she’s being annoying.

• Impulsive: If she hears that her loved ones are hurt, she’ll immediately jump into action. When emotional, she doesn’t think things through and gets herself caught up in the trouble as well. Even though her heart’s in the right place, she tends to make situations worse. If she sees someone is stuck in mud she’ll rush over and try pulling them out only to get stuck herself. If someone’s lost in a storm, she refuses to sit back and wait until morning. She’ll go searching for them only to get lost in the storm as well.

Piper was conceived due to a moment of weakness when her parents had a one night stand. What was supposed to be a single night of releasing built up stress resulted in a scared and shattered mind the moment her mother felt Piper and her siblings kicking her womb. She was unwed and now pregnant, a huge sin to her own family whom disliked the idea of strays being with pure breeds. Piper’s mother immediately wished to undo the pregnancy for she knew her father would be furious, she went to the only one who could help her; the father. When she approached her previous lover and confessed her situation, she expected him to be willing to help but was instead met with bared fangs. They had been foolish and naive, but Piper’s father felt the fear knowing he wouldn’t be a good father to his unborn children. He knew Piper’s mother was dependent on the him and afraid of the possibility of abandonment, so with his lover persisting, he offered the only solution he could think of. They’d become official mates and raise the children together. Piper’s mother knew she couldn’t handle the puppies on her own and agreed, seeing no other way around it. The further along her pregnancy went the more her depression grew. It was a warm spring night when Piper gave birth to her at first unwanted litter. A daughter and two sons nursed beside her, but eventually Piper’s mother held love for the children. She found that she liked spending more time with her pups than she had realized and showed affection to the children who would have never existed in the first place if it weren’t for her loving now acclaimed husband. Her mother’s actions didn’t go unnoticed by her father, he too had grown to love his little family.

By her juvenile years, despite her not so great relationship with her father later on, Piper never had it in her heart to turn away from him. She would bring up certain stories that he’d told her and her brothers when they were younger as she was eager for adventure in hopes of being simply acknowledged, but was usually met with the silent treatment. He wouldn’t say it but her father missed being carefree and living on the streets like he used to do before he settled down. He truly loved his family, he did but there was hints at regret when he had spoken to her mother just months before. Her mother could feel she was loosing him…like her father tried to warn her of. One particular day, Piper was searching for her father to find him with a pretty stray who hadn’t been her mother. Deciding not to make her presence known, she slipped away and silently observed her father hoping her suspicions of an affair weren’t true. As time passed her father began disappearing more frequently until Piper decided to confront him about it. She regretted her words the moment they slipped her tongue. Her father gave no explanation, but instead, pinned his daughter down in rage. In his mind, her father’s life had been stripped from him. His life was nothing more than a prison, and the loner had been his only escape. His only source of happiness now. And he wasn’t going to let that slip away even though he still loved his children and his wife. Her father calmed himself before telling her that he refused to be trapped in a home forever and that he’d be better off without them. Piper could only watch as her father slunk off and she hadn’t seen him since.
