Upon first meeting Viridis, no one would suspect him of being anywhere near leader material. He is, in many people's opinions, almost eerily nice. He's almost always calm, sweet, and soft. He's the epitome of a gentle giant, always smiling and charming. Many would assume him to be a rookie in his field, if not a pacifistic civilian, and not the leader of his organization. As some may describe it, he has "cinnamon roll energy." He is willing to extend a helping hand to anyone he comes across, no matter how small of a way. He's quite selfless in this regard, giving a lot of himself to others in need. He seems to have almost unlimited patience, staying rational and level-headed in even the worst of times. He's understanding and always willing to listen, making him good for giving advice and mediating conflict. He has a very positive outlook on life, and always helps those around him to look on the bright side. His friendly and open nature makes it easy for him to build trust with others. He can sometimes come off as clueless or scatterbrained, almost having "himbo energy." He has a tendency to get very flippant and nonchalant about things others may be more serious over, which may be in part due to this sort of cluelessness. Or, perhaps, due to some inner confidence in himself, like he knows he'll be able to handle whatever comes his way. He has some mannerisms and eccentricities that some may be thrown off by, even despite his almost teddy bear-like exterior. However, even if he seems like the human embodiment of a marshmallow, he is not without his leaderly qualities. His cluelessness seems to be much more of an act than he lets on, as he's actually quite intelligent. He's highly perceptive and detail-oriented, allowing him to become laser-focused on even the smallest facets of the things and people around him. His patience and surprisingly logical mind help him to make plans and good decisions even when under pressure. His kindness allows him to be considerate of others' advice and circumstances, letting him make the choices that would benefit the most people. This also allows him to make people feel at ease much more easily when he needs them to. He knows how to make others feel comfortable, allowing him to be able to gain information and lead in very calm ways. While he's kind, he is far from a pushover, and will be politely stern with those he needs to be. He knows he doesn't need to raise his voice or appear angry to make people behave when they need to. Just a gentle reminder works better than anticipated. This could, however, be for reasons that reach beyond his kindness.

As seemingly open as Viridis seems, he is actually surprisingly mysterious and almost shady. There seems to be something more lurking beneath his kind exterior, something no one can really place. While it doesn't seem like he's hiding any particularly malicious traits, there's definitely more than meets the eye. Some things that people may even consider a bit sinister. He's quick to brush off such ideas, but also seems acutely aware that he has more secrets to hide than he'd like others to believe. Perhaps even secrets that could allude to a more morally questionable side of him. He's good at being cryptic about this, among other things. He keeps a lot of things to himself, and prefers to keep most people at arm's length. He allows others to trust him more than he trusts them in most circumstances. He finds this to be the best way to gather information, after all. He knows how to use his mind tactically, and could be a terrifying mastermind if he really wanted to be. He has a strong desire to be in control of all situations he finds himself in, and feels his best when he has as much information as possible to work with. He can grow surprisingly irritable or stressed if presented with situations where he is at a disadvantage or is left unable to get details. However, the signs of this irritability are very hard to spot. He often masks most of his worst feelings under a smile and a laugh. He can be nonchalant about the worst situations, and talk about even the darkest subjects with a smile on his face. The only one who can really show his true emotions is his little companion, Tad. He seems to show the extreme emotions that Viri refuses to show himself. Alongside this, he's good at being surprisingly intimidating. He's the kind of guy that everyone is terrified of, but no one knows why until they see for themselves. He's someone you don't want to catch when he's not smiling, to say the least. When he gets serious, he's a force to be reckoned with. He is the kind of man who would destroy you with a smile on his face if he truly needed to. He's no stranger to having to rely on brutality. He tries his best not to get petty with this sort of behavior, though sometimes he will indulge in this if he thinks it'll make a point. Rather, he's incredibly methodical about when and where he lets his soft, tame persona slip. Overall, he prefers to keep his interactions tactful and civilized. He hates getting his own hands dirty, after all. And, as many people see it, they prefer him that way. He's the kind of man you NEVER want to see angry, after all.

In combat, Viridis is a fan of a particular concealed weapon. For him, this is his umbrella, which doubles as a handheld railgun. On the surface, it seems like any average umbrella. It shields him from the rain perfectly fine, and he often uses it as just that. However, should he need to defend himself, he has a few different ways to manage this. If he's at close range, the tip of his umbrella is incredibly sharp. He can use it as a polearm because of this, something he'll do quite often to nonlethally subdue opponents. If he needs more range or lethality, he can open the tip and unfold a trigger from the handle to allow him to fire blasts from the railgun segment. The energy that leaves the gun is a bright green color, and the green gauge on the side fills and empties to show how many shots he has left before needing to recharge.

Backstory

• He seems to always have almost circular blush on his cheeks. No one is sure whether this is natural or some kind of makeup, and he'll never say for certain.
• His frog companion is named Tad. He sits on top of Viri's hat often because of its lily pad-inspired design, but he will hop down to his shoulders and such often too.
• No one is entirely sure what Tad is. Whether he's a robot, an organic creature, a part of Viri, or what. All anyone knows is that he's cute.
• He is really skilled with his tongue. He can do plenty of tricks with it, like he's the kind of guy who could tie a cherry stem in a knot using only his tongue. He doesn't know how he got this ability, but he's not complaining.
• He really loves insects, and especially taxidermied bugs. He collects framed and pinned bugs, and displays them in his home and office.
• He also loves plants a lot. He's especially into aquatic plants, but loves all of them really. He maintains a garden in his spare time, and has ione flowers there that inspired his boy's name. However, because of Ione regularly mispronouncing the name of the flowers, the pronounciation for his own name changed as a result.
• He loves rainy weather a lot! He often goes out for walks in the rain, and admittedly has a soft spot for splashing in puddles.
• He absolutely wears frog-themed novelty socks at all times. Even on important business, he keeps them on.
• He somewhat snores at night. However, his snore is more akin to a frog quietly croaking than a typical snore.
• He is very musically inclined! He loves to sing, and will often find himself humming when doing simple tasks. He enjoys lots of different kinds of music, but is especially drawn to jazz or music that otherwise has jazzy elements to it.
• He really enjoys the environments of forests and meadows. Anywhere with greenery, he feels right at home. Surprisingly, he's also quite a fan of going into caves. While he doesn't hate urban areas and cities, he certainly loves getting into his nice outdoor nooks.
• He LOVES water, and especially swimming. He's like a fish (or frog haha) in water, and it's his favorite sort of exercise.
• He has very strong legs. He's able to run fast, and especially jump surprisingly high.
• He is a huge fan of fish. Any kind of fish, he loves to eat it. He also loves the taste of cucumber, lime, and mint!
• He really loves green tea, surprisingly. It may be his favorite drink out there, though that comes with steep competition.
• He cares a lot about his appearance. He always makes sure that he's looking his best, and can feel uncomfortable if even a single hair is out of place.
• While he knows the fluff in his outfit doesn't exactly fit his frog theme, he keeps it there as a reference to his boy Ione. He's a fluffy boy, and thus Viri keeps the fluff to match.
• Ione took Viri's jacket not long after they first met. Perhaps Viri offered it to him to keep him dry and warm on their first meeting, and it just stayed with him ever since. He doesn't mind the loss, as he wasn't particularly attached to the jacket, but is no stranger to teasing Ione about it at times.
• He is a surprisingly romantic man. He absolutely loves spoiling Ione in plenty of ways, and keeps his boy very pampered. He adores cuddling, kissing, and exchanging sweet words. He has many pet names for Ione, his favorite being "puppy" for obvious reasons.
• He really loves carrying Ione around. Especially picking him up when he needs to reach tall things, he really loves that. He wants to help Ione feel self-sufficient and do things for himself, while also helping him as much as he needs.
• While he knows exactly how to make Ione behave, he can't help but have a bit of a soft spot for his boy's naughtier behavior. He likes to see Ione get bossy or sassy, and quite enjoys his playful side.
