notable achivements: kicked ass during the Genpei War. charmed his way into the shogunate. kicked ass during WW2. joined the yakuza in the 1950s. has kept up his pawn shop for nearly 600 years. knows too many fkn people. was very into the goth movement in the 80s.
keeps a katana of no name. it's usually referred to as "the sword that can kill a demon", as it's a somewhat enchanted weapon. a pretty old one too. he's had the sheath remade many times, it's broken over the course of the centuries.

Charms
Z swarms the area with his standard paper charms. they usually detonate upon impact with anything and come in gargantuan quantities.
Fisherman's Dome
Z arranges a special set of paper charms in the shape of a dome that varies in size. a red thread connects the charms. the barrier prevents enemies from passing through, the charms can be moved around freely. it's not known what else this dome can hold against, but Z seems pretty confident about missiles not passing through.
Flower Field
A set of four or more charms mark out an area that is instantly overgrown with spider lilies. this has various positive effects on allies, slows enemies and can also be shrouded in a glamour that hides the field from anything outside of it.
Gale
Standard charms arrange in a circle, a sort of storm-like formation. winds whip the area, reaching hurricane speeds.
Clone
Z summons a number of clones of himself - the most he's done recently is ten but demons witness of him summoning more than that. they hit hard and die like flies - usually spawn with a copy of Z's katana.
Jade Bodhisattva
Somewhat of an obscure spell Z doesn't use often. It summons 8-10 jade arms (up to the elbow) around him that he can use to carry items or attack. They're sealed with a charm where the arm cuts off.
Jade Coat
By hitting something, anything - Z can briefly turn it into a piece of jade. This includes items, all sorts of surfaced and even organic materials. Works sort of like a flash freeze on skin and will just blow off chunks from organic matter.
In addition, the charms are quite versatile. the paper doesn't matter (he literally carved some from tree bark once) but Z can, with enchanted ink, write a charm that can fill almost any function. healing, mending items, silencing somebody, teleportation and even cancelling out magical effects are all a couple brushstroke away. a utility version of the exploding charms can be used to build temporary structures reinforced with magic, like walls, safety nets and occasionally additional weapons.
