Personality

A condescending woman who doesn't seem to have a care for anything in the world.

Since she always has some sort of grin on her face, it would seem that she's a cheerful person, but in fact she's very sarcastic and mocking. She's outgoing and has little regard for personal boundaries- in fact, it seems she enjoys breaking those boundaries and watching others react. In contrast, she hates being touched by others... She's apathetic and has little care for life, but she doesn't go out of her way to kill. She has a special dislike for humans, however.

story

Ares grew up in a continent different than which she lives now, in a solitary house on the coast. Even though he was also a dragon, her father was a high-ranking knight. Consequently, he wasn't home often. Her mother was always staring off somewhere thinking, and would often get distracted and stop in the middle of her sentences. With both of her parents unfit to take responsibility of her, she practically raised herself, but she was always looking up to her father. She dreamed of becoming a great knight like him, and aspired to be as great a swordsman, too. After seeing her interest in swordsmanship, Ares' father gave her a sword he had forged in the city, just for her. "Use it to follow through with your desires." He told her.
Not long after he gave her the sword, the they were sent a notification of his disappearance. Ares' passion to become a knight only strengthened, reinforced with the will to find her father one day. She learned of the noble knight who took his place, and began to idolize him, as well. When she was of age, she left for the castle to join the knights. She was a prodigy with the sword, and thrived in the kings' army.
While on patrol one night, she saw her idol sneaking into an empty courtyard. Curious and confused, Ares followed him. He was with the captain of the knights, and they were discussing something. "Ahaha, well once you're gone, I'll be the next captain, right?" A chill ran up her spine at hearing that cold tone in her idol's words. The both pulled out their swords in a flash, but it was too late- the captain had hardly grasped it when another sword was planted in his chest. Ares stepped back instinctively, disbelief in her eyes. What happened to that noble night I wanted to be like? As she stepped back, her foot caught on a rock, making a sound. As the knight's eyes raised up, shining with bloodlust, staring at her, she realized- He didn't exist. It was all a ruse to get what he wanted: Power. He smiled and started toward her. "Ahh, what a waste...I can't have you walking away and ruining my plan though, can I?" Ares pulled out her sword, and her heart suddenly hardened. The fight didn't last long. Her prowess with the sword and the other man's underestimating her brought the fight to a close shortly after it began. He was dead.
As morning broke, several guards were brought by the commotion. They stared in shock at the two bodies on the ground, and Ares, who held her bloody sword and was looking down. The guards recognized her, as a fellow knight. "...What-what happened here? You didn't...kill them, did you?" She could have easily explained her situation, and she might have been proven innocent. But as she turned to answer them, she remembered a time when she was working in a small village. A boy was asking her all sorts of questions about the knights. He also idolized the noble knight. Remembering her own childish admiration, she looked up at them and mustered a cold smile. "...That's right. I killed them." Using the commotion to escape, she fled to the coast with a huge bounty over her head. Her mother was gone. Oh well. Imagining the many knights out for her head, she took a ship to the neighboring continent of Vasiliades, and established herself as a mercenary. Killing had no meaning to her now. As far as she was concerned, the humans had tainted the meaning of nobility and justice. There was no such thing as "right", and she no longer cared. She kept the sword her father gave her, however- In some recess of her mind, she still longed to find him.

Other

Her sword was a gift from her father, so she treasures it deeply. The sheath is attached to the back of her belt.

She can transform into her true form (a dragon) though she doesn't tend to do it often as it draws unwanted attention.

Their relationship is an interesting one, but it usually involves Ares harassing him. Who knows how they haven't killed each other yet.
