Morrigan is the second daughter of Lullaby of Snowhaven, and Asteri, formerly of Torre. While Morana, her full sister, was carried by Lullaby, Morrigan was carried by Asteri and born in the Swamps. Khaalida was present for her birth and was asked to read her future and name her, much like she had Morana.

Upon seeing her future, Khaalida decided it was best if Morana never learned of her sister. Many of the futures that lay before Morrigan were shrouded in darkness, and the brightest path was that in which she grew up, safe in the swamp. However, as futures do, they change. Instead of developing normally, one small thread of fate was miswoven, resulting in Morrigan not developing her powers until she turned 16. While on the way to treat patients with Asteri, a group of reclusive Quirlicorns threatened Asteri. This caused a majority of Morrigan's magic to unlock at once, throwing her system into overdrive. She took control of their minds, and Khaalida barely arrived in time to stop further destruction.

Realizing the mistake upon viewing Morrigan's now possible futures, Khaalida took Morrigan and went to Morana to raise her. Morana was furious to find out she had a sibling she never knew of and had been kept from her, and that she was now expected to care for and train. She allowed Morrigan to stay, but took a very hands off approach to it.

Morrigan, in an act of desperation to be powerful enough to gain Morana's notice, undertook a dangerous ritual to craft an Artifact. This caused a huge fight between the two that ended in Morrigan passing out from exhaustion and getting sick.

After some words from Sidra and Rusalka, Morana had a talk with Morrigan and they came to an uneasy truce.
