|| Adpative, Loyal, Perceptive, Cynical, Calculating, Aloof ||

A quiet and clever medicine cat.

Rabbitclaw is a softspoken cat and mostly keeps to himself, although if asked for his opinion he won't pull his punches. He's not very good at expressing his emotions and doesn't trust other's easily. Among the few cats he does trust, he cares for deeply and would do anything for.

Rabbitclaw rarely gets angry, but when he does it's a cold kind of fury. Many cats are wary of Rabbitclaw because of this (most cats don't expect this attitude from a medicine cat, so they're taken by surprise, which is exactly what Rabbitclaw wants). Rabbitclaw has also been known on more than one occasion to lash out violently against other cats who have insulted his friends. Rabbitclaw has a sharp tongue as well, and has made a fool of many cats without physically beating them in a fight. Rabbitclaw tends to have his claws unsheathed a lot too, which is enough to deter most cats. Rabbitclaw, in general, has a very weak moral compass, and this manifests itself in many ways.

Rabbitclaw enjoys his job of being a medicine cat, he thinks herbs are facinating (all their different uses, apperances, how to prepare them, he loves everything about it). Although it did take him a while to start believing and starclan, and he's still skeptical whether or not starclan should be trusted. Starclan is just dead cats after all, why should dead cats tell alive cats how to live their lives?

One of Rabbitclaw's favorite things about joining Ironclan was learning to speak to crows. He was skeptical of this too at first, but Crowwing convinced him how cool the crows were and now he loves chatting with them. Rabbitclaw is convinced the crows know more about the clans than the clans do themself.

|| Trivia ||

  • when he first arrived in Ironclan, he wasn't comfortable with speaking for a while, so Sheepheart taught him sign language. Now Rabbitclaw is comfortable speaking whenever, but he still likes using sign language and communicates with it often. He also goes nonverbal when overwhelmed so it helps there too.
  • Rabbitclaw doesn't have the best beside manner. He's usually not outright rude, but if someone's being snippy he'll be snippy back. He and Sheepheart tend to play good cop bad cop is a cat is being difficult.
  • Despite Rabbitclaw's size, his gangly limbs, and long torso, he's a very quiet cat. He accidentally sneaks up on cats and scares them a lot.
  • When Rabbitclaw sleeps, he sleeps in a perfect compact ball, with his tail tucked over his nose and everything. Crowwing and Sheepheart think it's very cute.

|| History ||

Rabbitclaw seen as  somewhat of an enigma in the clan. He was introduced into the clan when he was around paw-age, after he was found by Sheepheart, badly wounded. Most of the clan was against helping the kit, he seemed past help, but Sheepheart insisted. Without a name of any kind, he assimilated into the clan as Rabbitpaw and became Sheepheart's apprentice as a medicine cat.

Despite taking on a clan cat's name, Rabbitpaw still doesn't fully follow many of the clan's traditions. Although he pledged to stay true to his medicine cat duties when needed, he wanted to to know how to fight and hunt, and trained with the warrior apprentices on a regular basis (and with Smokechaser,,, but that's a secret). Multiple cats tried to stop/discourage this behavior but Rabbitpaw just ignored them. Rabbitpaw also doesn't hate rogues or loners, and is friendly with most he meets.

And although technically unrelated to Rabbitpaw's rulebreaking, him being polydactyl is unsettling to some cats. There are one or two cats in other clans who are polydactyl, but none in Ironclan. The kits don't mind though, and actually think it's pretty cool. They grew to adore Rabbitpaw and constantly bother him in the medicine cat den. He's flattered, but he also doesn't know how to handle kits. To the elders and warriors though, a quiet, none-clanborne cat with more claws than any of them was a sign for alarm. It took a while for them to warm up to Rabbitpaw, and some never did.
