Ruth was born to and raised by a family of werewolves in Lakewood, and had a relatively normal upbringing. Once she reached highschool, she met another werewolf. Their relationship got off to an alright start, the two initially bonding over their shared experiences of werewolfism. But Ruth couldn’t shake the feeling that something about him was off. Maybe it was something about the way he acted, or how he spoke to her, but she couldn’t quite pinpoint what.

Graduation was fast-approaching, and Ruth’s family was constantly pestering her about her future wedding, pushing her to marry this fellow werewolf. Despite her gut feeling, she gave into the pressure, and the two of them married shortly after she graduated from highschool. It seemed fine, it started alright. Maybe he wouldn’t be so bad?

Big mistake.

Together, they had three children: Maurice, Anthony, and Gray. That is the one thing she is sure of. But everything else is a blur of emotions, from gut-wrenching terror, to visceral anger. Some memories have been blocked out, some remain very vivid in her mind. This had gone on for 20 years, 20 years too long. She was sick of it, she was being pushed closer and closer to her breaking point, she had to do something.

Once Maurice was old enough, she actively encouraged and did everything she could to help him get out of there with his brothers. Maurice was worried for her and wanted her to come along, but she insisted on staying behind, she would be fine. Someone has to deal with their dad.

She had to take matters into her own hands.

Relationships

Her initial gut instincts about him were so right, so right. He is nothing more than a wretched, vile excuse of a person. Giving into her family’s pressure was a mistake. She put up with him for far, far too long. Why she hadn’t thought to do this sooner is beyond her, but that’s besides the point. She needed to do something about him.

Maurice [ Eldest Son ]

Seeing how his father treated him always ripped at her. She wishes she could’ve done more to protect him, but the damage is already done. Helping him escape with his siblings was the best she could do at this point. She worries for him, and only hopes he’s doing well and taking good care of his brothers.

Anthony [ Middle Son ]

Anthony was always a more withdrawn child, and she had more difficulty trying to understand him. But he was still her son regardless, and loved him the same. Though… she caught wind of his father trying to put ideas in his head. There wasn’t much she could do from her tight position, she can only hope he ignored those ideas.

Gray [ Youngest Son ]

With how his father outright rejected him, she was able to nurture him more. She was always worried about him, being the youngest, and lacking a wolf form. She just hopes it has emerged in their time away… He certainly had a bright and creative mind. She saw so much potential in him, far more than his father ever did.
