About

Ava is a young Eevee who makes up half of Team Topaz, an exploration team apprenticing at the Tidepool Guild. She ran away from home due to her parents' constant pressure for her to evolve.

Ava is a bit cowardly, and tends to run away from her problems and mistakes. She has no direction in life, and that terrifies her. She hopes that being on an exploration team will give her life meaning and purpose.

Personality: independent, resourceful, quick-witted, stubborn, aimless, cowardly, clever, insecure, runs away from her mistakes.

Backstory

Ava was born in Verdant Village, a small settlement nestled deep within the forest. Her well-meaning but overprotective parents sheltered her, alongside her older brother, Basil. While Basil spent most of his time reading and studying plants, Ava spent her time playing in her secret hideout, a hole she dug in the ground under a tree. She would rebel against her parents by hiding and sneaking out of the village.

As Ava grew older, her parents began pressuring her more and more to choose an evolution. Evolution is vitally important in Eeveelution culture, since the ability to evolve into many different forms is considered a blessing. However, Ava could never choose what Pokémon she wanted to evolve into. What if she made the wrong choice, and ended up being miserable for the rest of her life? No matter what she chose, she'd be missing out. The closer she got to adulthood, when her parents would expect her to evolve, the worse the anxiety became. And so, the night before her 18th birthday, she ran away from home.

Present Day

After running for days, Ava wound up in Tidepool Port. There she met a friendly Pikachu named Soren, who wished to form an exploration team and join the Tidepool Guild. Ava agreed, since she had nowhere else to go. Together, the two of them formed Team Topaz, named after a mysterious artifact Soren had discovered years prior.

Currently, Team Topaz is taking on rookie jobs and learning the ropes at the guild. Meanwhile, rumors are brewing of Pokémon who fall into a deep sleep from which nothing will wake them... (My PMD story is still a huge work in progress! There will be more to come someday.)

Design

Ava usually wears her bandanna.

I dislike the retconned Eevee gender difference, so I omitted it in Ava's design.

Stats

Ava isn't particularly powerful, but she can hold her own in most fights. She is resourceful and often uses the environment around her to her advantage, such as when she uses Dig and Sand Attack.

Her ability is Run Away. It is easier for her to escape from battle.

The user lunges at the target at a speed that makes it almost invisible. It is sure to strike first.

Sand is hurled in the target's face, reducing its accuracy.

Star-shaped rays are shot at the opposing team. This attack never misses.

The user burrows, then attacks on the second turn.

Trivia

Her family name is a reference to the now-defunct Pokémon fansite, Eonlight Valley.
