Ilya Kiselyov's Links
Completely in love with Dmitri, and has been for years, but knows admitting it would give the other leverage over him. Holds a resentment for Dmitri for his lack of ambition and family ties, but is aware they're perfect for one another.
Finds Dmitri's bookish-ness and somewhat shy nature to be strangely cute. Enjoys talking to someone he feels is as clever and worldly as him. Admires his attention to detail, calmness under pressure, and shrewdness. Appreciates a quieter evening alone with Dmitri as opposed to more sociable outings. Can be a tad possessive and defensive of him. Would still absolutely do anything for him, even things he finds detestable - even if it means giving up something important.
Finds Dmitri's lack of confidence odd, but is willing to take advantage of it. Often wonders if death changed his friend, and his current self is an imposter wearing his flesh. Knows Dmitri doesn't trust him, and resents it, considering he gave up his dreams to take up his offer; yet, he doesn't trust Dmitri, either. Still begrudgingly loyal to him.
Completely in love with Ilya, and has been since they first met, but would be hesitant to admit it even under torture. Fully aware they are perfect partners, but still feels inadequate when compared to the other.
Particularly finds himself drawn to Ilya's charm and sense of humour. Admires his ambition, tenacity, and confidence. Often finds himself drawn out of his shell around Ilya, even despite his general reservations; much more open about himself with Ilya than anyone else. Sometimes can be clingy, mainly emotionally but sometimes physically - which manifests in wanting to always be at his side. Would willingly put himself in harm's way if it meant Ilya could get ahead, as he harbours a guilt that he's stolen opportunities from his closest friend.
Typically gets very jealous very quickly over anyone too particularly friendly with Ilya (or anyone Ilya is friendly with). Still does not fully trust the other, despite being the one to initiate their partnership; fully aware that Ilya is just as cunning as him, and may have ulterior motives. Doesn't yet see him as fully human due to his lycanthropy, and consequentially projects a hatred of the supernatural subtly onto him when it comes to trust between the two.
