Melanthia

Melanthia is the fifth princess of the Spring Court. She is kind and demure as befitting a Spring princess, though she has a playful, adventurous streak. 

The Winter King and his sister, the Spring Queen, arrange a marriage between Nyxarion and Melanthia in order to strengthen the ties between the courts. 

Melanthia’s malformed wings and lack of flight are seen as nothing more than a weakness to Nyxarion and so he deems her unworthy of his time or affections, instead letting Hexenlite entertain her using his façade. She thinks she's falling in love with Nyxarion despite their arranged marriage, unaware it's really Hexenlite that has captured her heart.

Nyxarion & Hexenlite

Nyxarion is a fae Lord of the Winter Court. He is the Winter King's most fierce warrior and the leader of the Wild Hunt. He has a dragon shifter companion named Hexenlite that appears as Nyxarion's doppelganger in human form. They have a close, romantic relationship that is partly fueled by their narcissism.

Nyxarion is generally more cunning, sadistic, bloodthirsty, ruthless and aggressive than Hexenlite. Hexenlite is also all of those things, but he is more charming and playful. Hexenlite must consume a small portion of Nyxarion's blood in order to maintain his form as well as to keep up to date with Nyxarion's latest experiences and feelings so he can seamlessly switch places. Nyxarion and Hexenlite grew up together, with Hexenlite shadowing Nyxarion at all times.
