Few living creatures call the Taiga home, and even fewer esk. Vega spends her days looking for others inside her boundary, though she's not the best when it comes to socializing. Vega will often end up mimicking other creatures' habits in an effort to fit in. Once she finds someone who she considers a friend she will spend the next few weeks following them around and clinging to their side; an attempt to keep them from disappearing that often backfires. Her favorite season is summer, it brings new growth and the animals and plants around her become more active.

Prior to her transformation Vega's flock was everything to her. She spent most of the year surround by several hundred birds, all like her; they were her family and she fit in perfectly. During one her yearly migration over Alaska she became lost. Though she patiently waited for her flock to return to find her they never did. Cold and alone she transformed into an esk by Limn. She doesn't like to travel too far from her boundary in the hope that one day her flock will return, and she can once again join them.
