Atlas is a Shen'rath; a large, aquatic draconid species that shares its home planet with the seafaring Shen'uth. Despite their size and animalistic appearance, Shen'rath are sapient beings, and one could even argue that they're smarter than the average humanoid. Though apex predators, they are peaceful by nature, and hold strong beliefs to never take more lives than needed for their own survival. They may occasionally leave the water to share time with the Shen'uth in their icy homes, but they are very clumsy and helpless on land, and prefer not to stay long. Also like the Shen-uth, the jelly-like manes along a Shen'rath's back act as receptors for electric fields and changes in water currents, giving them a better sense to navigate by in the lightless depths of their planet's waters.
