Emilia Yukimura (雪村エミリア Yukimura Emiria) or Emilia Yukimura-Hermansen is a student at U.A training to become a Pro Hero. She is the oldest daughter of two Pro Heroes, Poison Ivy and Jet, with her father gone missing three years prior, after joining the villains' ranks. She ranked on Top 6 on her Entrance Exam.

During the Internship Arc, as well as on Hero-Work Studies, she interns in the Gambit Agency, led by Ryuunosuke Maeda, or Tempest, where she met the 3rd year student, Eleanor Kawaguchi, or Aether, during the Internship. She has been friends with the idol Mizu (Mizuko Kersey) ever since childhood, as well as with Lyra Pan, from Shiketsu High School and Ash Tamashi.

Emilia is firstly introduced as a highly energetic and optimistic girl, always seen with a grin on her face. She is also very talkative, and is often surrounded by people, be it either in school or outside, and is capable of befriending easily someone. She is always goofing around and making jokes with her friends, and even teasing them, though meaning no harm with it. She also tends to have a sarcastic tone on her teasing replies, showing a more sassy side of her. After the field training, under Ryuunosuke's wing, she became much calmer and serious about everything, and started to balance raw power with strategy and to analyze the situation before jumping in. She also learnt that running away is a complete valid option, and is much more careful about the usage of her Quirk.

Quirk

Strength:
Allows her to manipulate kinetic energy. She can transfer the kinetic energy from one object to another, tear holes in walls or cause her target to be unable to move or stop.

Close Combat

Strength:
Due her dancing practice, she is flexible and has some knowledge in martial arts, which is expanded after her field training with Ryuunosuke.

Pain tolerance

Strength:
She seems to have some tolerance to pain, as several times she continued to use her Quirk, even if the burden on her body was already too much.

Supermoves

Strength:
She was able of developing three supermoves, however, some of them consume much of the time she has to use her Quirk. She has relatively good control over it.

Quirk

Kinetic Energy (運動エネルギー Undō enerugī): Emilia's Quirk allows her to create, shape or manipulate kinetic energy, which any moving object possesses. She can transfer the kinetic energy from one object to another, strengthening their attacks, or tearing holes in walls, with a simple touch; turn an object's potential energy into kinetic, inclusively making it explosive or causing a target to be unable to move or stop. She stores her natural kinetic energy, as well as the one she absorbs by the impacts in the marks on her wrists and near her ankles. Whenever she activates her Quirk, faint orange lightnings spread around her body, and her power manifests itself in a peachy color.

Due the properties of her Quirk, Emilia is able to use it propel herself around, like a jet, and cause bursts as well as increase/decrease the resistance of something (inertia), being as well, able to accelerate or deaccelerate it. With this she is able, not exactly to fly, but to propel herself around in a similar fashion to Katsuki Bakugou's Explosion Quirk. She later learns how to levitate on the air, and to be able to create shields that rebound kinetic energy.

Strengths:

  • Able to fly/propel herself around, allowing her to escape/dodge faster
  • Can strengthen objects, using them as projectiles as well as send blasts
  • Able to protect herself from physical attacks, as she redirects them
  • Deliver impacts of concussive force either by direct force, pulse of energy or other way
  • Release energy in any shape, as laser or balls
  • Can resist being pushed back, even if not for long (1 minute maximum)
  • Able to change the proprieties of objects/liquids/etc and solidify it
  • By using the branch of kinetic energy manipulation, can generate an invisible shield of kinetic energy. This shield will either absorb the kinetic energy, negates it, redirect it or redouble the kinetic energy and send it back to the foe.

Weaknesses:

  • She only possesses 5 minutes (6 later on) to use her propelling or moves - the more she uses her Quirk in those the more the time decreases. After that time is reached, her consequences start kicking in (as mentioned below).
  • The longer she propels herself around, her hands start to get burnt and cut due the effort. Eventually it will spread to all of her body.
  • It's extremely hard to make sudden turns, and to control the time she can propel herself around. She can suffer damage if her speed is too high
  • To be able to redirect physical attacks, she needs to touch them slightly. She can also be not be able to activate it under extreme stress, and even if she redirects them, it affects her surroundings
  • To use objects as projectiles she needs to touch them, and can't use it on living beings
  • To use energy in form of lasers or balls, she requires outside source of energy, meaning she needs to allow a non-physical attack to reach her. She also doesn't have perfect control over firing and power output, which wounds her and exhausts her
  • To solidify anything, she needs to have physical contact it, and the chance only lasts for a short time. If anything melted, she can't solidify it as well she may not be able to use it in several materials. Even if skin and blood can be controlled, it's extremely difficult.
  • In terms of shields, slower objects may be able to pierce through the shield as well as the field may not activate if a person or object exerts little kinetic energy against it. Offers little protection against weapons/attacks based on non-kinetic energy like thermal or electrical energy.

Moves

Supernova: Release shockwave of stored kinetic energy that tears through anything in its path. It wastes a great amount of energy, and lowers the time she can propel herself around.

Impact Zone: Using the branch of concussive force, she flies up and then down, increasing the kinetic energy on her wrist and body, able to when she crashes on the floor, create an impact area, sending everything around her flying. It's not very useful to use in unstable areas, as it can cause casualties or injuries, and she doesn't want that. It can also harm herself accidentally.

Scatter Shot: By absorving the kinetic energy, she can turn it into her own energy and release it in form of lasers of balls of energy. When it comes to the laser, she can only release one at the time, but she can release several balls of energy at the same time.

Charging Dash: She is able to charge in a linear direction with superhuman speed and strength, causing a great destructive force. It allows her to break through solid matter like cement walls, iron shields, and if powerful enough, force fields such as Ryuunosuke's telekinetic field.

Energy Empowerment: Becomes stronger, faster, more durable, etc. when they come into contact with kinetic energy, possibly unlocking abilities related to the affinity and enhancing their existing powers. Needs to have physical contact with someone's attack first, the stronger the attack, the stronger she becomes, however she may not handle the physical attack. If it overcomes her limits, she gets painful outbursts to her body.

Shoto Todoroki

[ boyfriend ]

Emilia's boyfriend at the current time of the manga. The two first interacted on the USJ arc where they fought side by side against the invading villains and ever since then they have been growing closer to each other.

Mizuko Kersey

[ Childhood Best friend ]

Mizuko is Emilia's childhood friend, and emotional support/safe port. The two met in a dancing class, after Emilia attempted to befriend Mizuko during school, even though it wasn't successful. In Hero Work Studies, it is revealed they are soon to be stepsisters, due the engagement of Emilia's mother and Mizuko's father.

Yukari Kouseki

Yukari and Emilia are extremely close friends since both are troublemakers, often annoying their classmates together, either with stupid talks or pranks. This side is also seen during classes, in which they are almost always misbehaving.
