Decade was born with a rare power given to skeltics: Portal hopping. Portal hopping is the ability to open portals to other dimensions. His mother found out, and he was trafficked to the royals. He grew up being trained for war, and was granted a big role in the military on Nebua. He grew up with Nebula, who quickly became his best friend. Decade soon joined the G.A.P.P, meeting a Skeltic named Syro. Nebula finds out about the friendship, and gets jealous, doing everything in her power to keep Syro and Decade apart- including killing the queen. After a confrontation with Nebula, Decade and Syro make the difficult decision to leave town. After leaving, they get separated, and Decade meets an isolated Skeltic named Roxie.

After traveling with Roxie, Syro, and a Skeltic they met along the way named Z, they came to a canyon. They decide to settle down for the night, and when Decade wakes up, he finds Nebula demanding he come with her, while holding Syro hostage over the canyon's edge. Decade agrees, as long as she lets Syro go. She agrees, but after taking Decade in custody, she drops Syro. Decade, struck with grief and shock, cannot fight back. Two weeks later, Roxie, Century, Sol, and Z come to his rescue. They free him from Nebula’s grasp, and after a speech, the skeltics of Nebua declare him the king. A while after him becoming king, skeltics start to pop up dead left and right. Decade, stressed and still grieving, accepts help wherever he can get it, even from a snake-like Skeltic… Like Selva.
