PERSONALITY
He's often the most level-headed within his family or friend groups. He’s great at planning and organizing and is always the first to take control of an overwhelming situation. He’s always been relatively reserved but grew cheerier as Liam rubbed off on him. Due to his large stature and occasional lack of expression, most people find him intimidating at first if he’s not in a group. He loves helping people and is a softie once you get to know him, but unlike his husband, wouldn’t hesitate to sock someone in the face for acting out. He only has patience for those in his circle.
BACKSTORY
Lukas was born in Virginia by the Chesapeake Bay and spent much of his time around his parents as an only child. He often fished with his dad and like Liam, was a self-sufficient kid. However, it wasn’t because his parents treated him poorly. Though he was afraid of his family’s southern traditions, he came out to them in late high school. He faced no hardships from them and decided to go out of state for college after graduation.
He got a part-time job as a bartender and by graduate school, had begun renting an apartment in the area. While he didn’t go out of his way to work at a gay bar, he grew to like it since everyone was welcoming and he felt like he belonged. Many customers would visit for him or Quinn, who would always put on a show and do drunk karaoke with everyone. Eventually, the two became friends, and while the flamboyant man would often flirt and joke about dating him, it never went anywhere. If it weren’t for their friendship, their families would likely have never connected.
RELATIONSHIPS
Unbeknownst to them both, given that it was several years ago, Lukas and Quinn met in high school. When meeting again in adulthood, they didn’t remember but still felt connected somehow. As a teenager, Quinn was a theatre kid who always took part in plays and musicals. His dad was often tasked with picking him up since his mom was busy, but since his dad wasn’t too keen on the idea of his son being an artsy kid, he would make him walk home.
The opinion of Quinn’s father often weighed on him since the older man was the talk of the town, so even at school, he felt like he had to keep secrets. One of his peers attempted to blackmail him with an unsightly photo he took of Quinn and another man, but when he confronted the kid after school, they got into a fight. Even though they were two grades below him, Lukas stepped in between them and stood up for Quinn, tending to his wounds afterward.
Since the entire confrontation was awkward, they were too flustered to exchange names. Regardless of the situation’s origin, Quinn kissed Lukas as a thank you. However, since Lukas was a senior and it was already the second semester, they didn’t run into each other after that. Although Lukas was flattered, even back then, he never considered Quinn more than a friend.
