Naomi

Naomi was once a human - now transformed into a Pokémon - and is the co-leader of Team Solar along with her partner Ollie. She’s been having a difficult time adjusting to her new circumstances, but is a cheerful and compassionate person regardless, if prone to bouts of melancholy since her transformation. Naomi’s had a lot of fun being on Team Solar and poking around this brand new world she’s found herself in. You know what they say: curiosity killed the cat, but satisfaction brought it back. And Naomi has found a lot of satisfaction in her new life here, even as she misses her old one terribly. She doesn’t know whether to be happy or sad about the fact that she’s far from the only human in this situation, though she does take a guilty sort of comfort in it, in having people who understand what she’s going through.

As for how she came to this world, Naomi was in the middle of taking her finals when she fell asleep thanks to exam stress and exhaustion. She heard a strange, many-voices-in-one asking for help in her dream, and - stupidly - she followed it. It was just a dream, after all...until it wasn't, and she was falling from the sky while understandably shrieking like a banshee. Whether she kicks herself for the decision or not depends on the day and how homesick she feels. As for who the voice belonged to, she doesn't know. Given that Legendary Pokémon seem to be hand-picking humans to drop into this world, obviously this was the doing of one of them, but unless she bumps into a Legendary and hears their voice there's no way for her to know which specific Legendary was responsible - especially since this world has so many of them (there’s even multiple Arceus for heaven’s sake!!)

(She has no way of knowing it, but it wasn't a Legendary who brought Naomi into this world like she understandably assumed thanks to a lifetime of playing PMD games, but an alphabet of Unown)

Naomi’s favorite color is turquoise and she loves sour foods, being known to eat lemons as though they were oranges. Citrus is another one of her favorites, which leads to a rather unfortunately expensive taste for the Sitrus berries of her new world, since they taste like lemons, limes, and oranges all combined into one fruit. Naomi also has a fascination with the ‘bottomless bags’ in this world, which while not actually bottomless certainly fit a lot more inside them than their outside appearance dictates. Just a little something people take for granted in this world, while it rocks Naomi’s own. Same with the lack of a level cap like what?

Naomi does have a very dangerous handicap in this world though: her epilepsy. Coming to the Pokémon world merely transformed her body into the Pokémon that fit her most; what it did not do was change her brain structure (and why would it? It wasn’t changing what made them them after all). Meaning Naomi’s epilepsy is very much present and she no longer has access to the medication that kept them from happening back in her world. And since these things can drop her at any time and she’s often delving into mystery dungeons filled with insane, hostile Pokémon, well. It’s a problem they haven’t been able to solve beyond never letting Naomi run dungeons solo due to the danger. At least with a buddy Naomi has someone to help and defend her if she drops; none of them want to think about what could happen if she was alone in a mystery dungeon and had a seizure.
