Magpie

Curious • Resourceful • Impulsive

A rough-around-the-edges charmer, Magpie has oft been described as a free spirit and almost contradictory in nature. She's friendly but hard to read, thoughtful but with low impulse control and has an easy-going yet untrusting nature.

Magpie can come across as not the brightest on first impression but anyone who’s spent more time around her would know that to be far from the case. In particular, she has a real knowledge of all things technological or mechanical. People’s beliefs about her intelligence don’t matter to her much, being underestimated is much more fun.

To Magpie there is no single better feeling than setting out on a long journey, regardless of whether there is a destination in mind or not. The loneliness of her chosen life doesn’t seem to bother her much. However, as amiable as she appears, she is surprisingly quick to form grudges. Once she has developed a negative opinion of someone it is nearly impossible to get back into her good graces.

An optimist, Magpie has a moral code and worldview she lives by, even if she needs to be quite drunk or exceptionally sentimental to ever talk about it. The philosophy she sticks to is that nothing lasts forever. Things, no matter how seemingly permanent will always decay, crumble and change and those who wish to control things and shape them to their will are running a fool's errand at best.

• Kind of a womanizer
• Prefers to keep in the good graces of many of the factions of the Mojave reguardless of her actual feelings on them, if solely to make travelling in and out of places easier
• Has a habit of pocketing anything that isn't bolted down, and constantly carries around a notably supply of junk
• 'Magpie' was originally a nickname but now it's all she goes by. Her ‘actual’ name is Margaret, which devolved to Maggie, to Mag before Magpie eventually stuck. The fact her current name fits her habit of pocketing anything that isn’t bolted down is just a happy coincidence
