Mana was previously a forward for Raimon's team and attended Raimon Junior High. After winning the Football Frontier, she became a reinforcement player at Oka Junior High. She was meant to help even out and improve the already promising team and help them to find a sponsor. What Mana unintentionally (at first) did however, was take total control of the team and everything involving it.

Mana's father had moved to the United States of America a handful of years ago. After Mana's mother died and she moved in with her aunts and uncles, Mana's dad sent her all kinds of gifts and money in lieu of actually being there. At first this was fine enough, but after a year or two of being showered in gifts and money, Mana became pretty spoiled. However, it wasn't until her father agreed to sponsor Oka's soccer team that the problems for her really began.

Mana was put in charge of everything since her dad was their sponsor. He gave Mana complete control of every aspect, trusting her to do the right thing and help her team get to the top, and represent the good Miyagi name the whole while. But this turned out to be not so great for Mana, or not for her personality at least. Back in the Raimon days she was sweet -- annoying, but sweet. Now that she was in charge however, it started to go to her head. And before long Mana was a tiny, purple-haired dictator...and kind of a bully, too. She doesn't care if her teammates like her or not, she only wants to win. And she has her own myriad of reasons to want to win, too!
