Profile

Just your average teenaged superhero!

Relax, he’s been doing this for a year! He should be an expert now… right? Right?

Name: Gary Hammerschmidt (Alias: Silver Striker)

Sex: Male He/Him

Age: 16 Years (Birthday: 7/7)

Sexuality: Straight

__

Appearance Notes:

  • Gary usually can be found in loose-fitting clothes, preferably colorful t-shirts. He dislikes sweatshirts, but he’ll wear them during the winter/early spring months.
  • He has black, square-rimmed glasses, but he doesn’t wear them when he’s playing  “on the job”.
  • The streak in his hair is hair dye, and he washes it out whenever he’s not in his suit. His hair actually isn’t always that cool mohawk thing, it’s normally down and kind of like a mullet, though it’s still styled similarly.
  • He’s a dork, and he always has this sort of goofy grin on his face
  • Funnily enough, despite the strength boon he gets from his powers, he’s still going through puberty, so he’s still pretty scrawny and rather lanky.
  • His hair wasn’t always that shade of blue/black, it was originally almost pure black. That attribute seemed to chance once he got his powers. He knows it has a correlation. Whenever people who remember him raven-haired ask if he did something to his hair, he gives the excuse of “oh, yeah, the sun must’ve bleached it”.
  • Pretty big ears. He’ll grow into them… eventually. Friends of his jokingly call him Dumbo.
  • Six feet tall. Height is mainly in his legs.

Powers:

  • He can manifest silvery, translucent objects (mainly weapons) out of thin air, they disappear when they get broken/when he dismisses them.
  • He has enhanced strength, agility, dexterity, and constitution.
  • He gained his powers when he broke his grandfather’s statuette of a broadsword.

Personality:

  • Gary is a very friendly kid, he goes out of his way to help people when he can, and he always has a cheery message to give.
  • He enjoys reading comic books and watching Super Hero movies, and when he broke that statuette, he was ecstatic about the possibility of becoming a Super Hero.
  • Gary is a very persistent fellow, and he won’t back down from a fight unless he knows for absolute certain that there isn’t a chance he can win.
  • Very big history nerd!! Always had an interest in it, especially medieval era (and antiquity to a lesser degree) stuff. He enjoys watching documentaries, reading books and going to museums whenever he can, probably also enjoys historical fiction (he's not very fussy about complete historical accuracy, but he can tell when the author's done their research well and appreciates it). Knows loads of random trivia about medieval weaponry/armor and just general life in that period of time. Yes he WILL gush about it if asked. And then apologize afterwards.
  • Enjoys building mockups/models, it's one of his main hobbies. Mostly for famous buildings/structures, but sometimes he does planes/vehicles as well. Also enjoys doing jigsaw puzzles, probably completed one of those 10,000 piece ones at least once in his life.
  • While his superpower is somewhat deadly in nature, he really does try his best not to severely harm the people he's fighting. Usually he'll try to stun or trap his opponents, and focus on protecting the victim if there is one.
  • He doesn't really like wearing glasses, honestly prefers contact lenses. He still wears them anyway though, as he believes it'll help distinguish his everyday self from his superhero persona.
  • Likes to collect figurines!! Mostly of his favorite superheroes. He kind of wishes he'll maybe be able to have a figurine of himself someday, but is a bit embarrassed of it as well.
  • While not exactly popular in his school, he's generally well liked for his friendly demeanor. He used to get picked on when he was younger but in highschool he's mostly well respected. And he has his own group of friends, so he's content with that.
  • He blushes so easily, it’s not even funny. The dude cannot take a compliment.

Story/Info:

  • The aforementioned statuette was created by Jazon (Actually pronounced “Jazz-on”, but always pronounced ”Jason”.) when he began to grow too old to wield his powers anymore. Jazon was actually an alien scout sent from a planet far away, where powers were commonplace, but his were special. The power of creation was a very coveted gift. Jazon’s brother, Harrisum, was jealous of his younger brother’s gift (as he only had the lowly power of hovering), so, as the elected president of his kingdom, he sent his brother away on a “scouting mission in search of other intelligent life forms”.
  • When Jazon found Earth, he tried to transmit a message to his home planet, but he found his comms disabled and his ship unable to turn from it’s trajectory. His brother hadn’t wanted him to find life! He just wanted him gone!
  • So, stranded on a strange, but familiar, planet with no way home, Jazon made the best of it and put his powers to good use by becoming a superhero, though not by our common definition. He worked in the shadows and never let the world see him, because he didn’t want anyone to freak out or try to put him on some sort of pedestal.
  • Jazon met a nice human woman, Lillianne, and settled down with her, never telling her his secret. When they inevitably had a son, Derek, Jazon decided he’d pass his gift down to him when he became too old to properly use it anymore.
  • Alas, Jazon’s health faded fast as he grew older, and it soon became a struggle to even speak. So, Jazon condensed the entirety of his power into a statuette of a broadsword, which (due to the amount of raw power that made it up) was entirely opaque, not hinting at the supernatural nature of it at all. It was also very delicate due to the pressure.
  • Jazon wrote a letter in detail to his son, explaining the nature of his power and how to release and then use it, but the letter was lost to the trash when a hospice nurse cleared his table after one of his meals, and Jazon didn’t notice.
  • When Jazon died, so did the secret of his power. Derek had no idea about the abilities his father had, and he never would.
  • Years later, Derek had a son of his own, Gary, and, still, the secret of Jazon’s power stayed, well, secret, until Gary, up in the attic, searching for some material for one of his newest mock-ups, came across a little statuette that would be perfect to put in his model park as a statue. When he reached for it, though, he accidentally knocked it over, causing it to shatter. Instantly, the pieces vanished and turned to a silvery material, which rushed at Gary with such force that it caused him to fall over and almost pass out from hitting his head on a boxed labeled “Dad’s pots”. When he came to, Gary thought ‘That was weird’, and went on with his day.
  • He had no idea what he’d just done.
