Originally raised by their noble human mother, Scorch rarely thinks about their past. Being a half-orc among ignorant children meant they were faced with bullying for most of their childhood. She tended to just sit and take it though, silently observing, as it was hard to do any actual damage to her. Scorch's mother was a busy and curt woman, constantly exasperated by the pressure of societal norms and her job. She rarely made time for her kid. One day, Scorch's anger took hold, and they got into a huge fight with another kid. In the commotion, a few torches were knocked over and the room was set ablaze. Instead of running like everyone else, Scorch stood and watched the flames, nearly becoming engulfed themselves until another adult grabbed them. Fed up, Scorch's mother sent her to live with her father, Rhol the Heartseeker.
This was far from a punishment, however. Scorch's father had left his shady background behind, serving as an important figure in his hometown along with Scorch's many half-siblings. He taught her how to fight, how to protect, and how to direct her strange fascination with fire. Eventually, Scorch grew of age and decided to leave the town, traveling the world while keeping in touch with their father occasionally. Unfortunately, without a proper anchor, it was hard for them not to slip into a life of crime. And after setting the wrong place on fire, they've been on the run ever since.
PERSONALITY
On the outside, Scorch is a stoic, contemplative person. A woman of few words. On the inside, their thoughts race a mile a minute. They're self-serving, introverted, and slow to trust others. However, they're willing to do most things if it benefits them in some way. Just, don't tell them an inflexible plan unless you want them to do the opposite of what you asked. They're a pyromaniac, and tend to fidget by lighting sparks between their fingers with their magic.
IDEALS
After being stuffed up in a noble house that didn't want them, and the quiet obligation to serve their town, Scorch values their own freedom above all else. They will not let something or someone tie them down.
BONDS
After setting an important building on fire (mostly by accident) and killing a few on the inhabitants, Scorch has been on the run ever since.
FLAWS
They will only listen if they believe you're worth listening to. If not, they'll straight-up ignore plans or conversations.
