Nosferatu courier who really hates her dad.

About

"Please, dude! My dad won't even care! He's only into real estate scams and strippers, I promise!"

Pigeon lives in a cave system carved out below the streets of Los Angeles California. Before she became a vampire, she was a band groupie, and before she was a band groupie, she was a mechanic. Raised by a single mother who barely made ends meet doing auto repairs, Pigeon grew up around cars and bikes and followed in her mom's footsteps until one of her friends' bands made it big and she got the opportunity of a lifetime to travel the west coast on a motorbike touring with them. It was good, until she got cornered in a hotel room by a mysterious man and turned into a beastly-looking vampire after a show in LA. Her father, it turns out, has an unfavorable reputation for himself among west coast vampires as a flashy, self-absorbed risk to their secret society, and Pigeon is paying the price for it as his only next of kin.

Needless to say, being relegated to an underground cave system didn't exactly mesh well with Pigeon's lifestyle. In time she was able to secure herself a position as a Camarilla courier. Though not passionate about her work, it affords her a haven in the LA sewers and enough stints of driving above ground to keep her sane. Together with her ghouled rat Lahore, she rides the highways of the American Southwest by night in her blacked out Nissan. It's not her dream job by any means, but she recognizes things could be a lot worse.

Personality

"I'm looking for information on a man named Andrew Hudson."

Before her embrace, Pigeon was outgoing and hotheaded. She said what she was thinking, and people liked her for that. Her honesty got her into a bit of trouble sometimes, but never something she couldn’t backpedal her way out of. She had a tendency to sass people she was unfamiliar with, but once people got to know her they’d understand that most things she did were out of compassion for her friends. Traveling with a group of bikers she’d known since high school, community and trust were paramount to her. She knew she was lucky to have such good friends.

Her embrace was traumatic. Her sire left her disoriented, scared and alone to bear the curse of the Nosferatu, only sticking around long enough to take pictures to send to her father. Locked alone in that hotel room for several days as she took on the form of the Nosferatu, she came to the conclusion that vampire society was one of hateful, spiteful people who deserved her contempt in return. Punished for the crimes of a man she had little connection to other than DNA, the Camarilla appeared to her as an unfair and corrupt system of cruel people that get off on the suffering of others. She began her unlife jaded and skittish, always keeping an eye over her shoulder.

Unlike most Nosferatu, Pigeon didn’t immediately accept her predatory nature as a creature of the night. Through it all, she had one thing on her mind: a mission. She was absolutely determined to find her father and the man that turned her and make them pay for what they took from her. Because of this determination, she managed to maintain her humanity in the face of the curse. Though she lives underground, she won’t accept being bound there. Rebellious by nature, Pigeon frequently sneaks up to the surface to slink around in the shadows.

"I look like a freaking cereal mascot."

In life, Pigeon was a well-groomed woman of slightly above average height with a toned build. Her dark hair was styled in a slight mullet with bleached blonde tips and she often fell victim to helmet hair. She had three piercings on her right eyebrow, and three more on her right ear. She often wore large dark boots, a black choker, and a matching leather jacket usually accompanied by goggles and gloves if she was working.

After her transformation, she became more gangly and lost all of her hair. Pigeon’s skin lost its complexion and faded into a cadaver-like purple hue as her body was exsanguinated and transfigured. Her nose and ears grew outwardly and became more chiropteran in shape. Teeth jutted out and became more gnarled and disorderly, and her sclera darkened significantly. Her hands grew larger, and her fingernails shaped into jagged claws. Her feet changed similarly, making shoes a non-option.

She still wears much of the outfit she had on her at her time of death, including an anklet from her friend and the choker she was never seen without. She is usually wearing a leather jacket, but besides that she wears rather skimpy clothing because it's less restrictive. She almost always has her goggles on, less for practicality and more because they remind her of better times.

  • Skin is coarse, covered in blemishes.
  • Always wearing some kind of piercings

Relationships

Viscardi: Sire

Nosferatu mercenary who took a job from a Camarilla agent to embrace the daughter of Andrew Hudson and provide evidence of having done so. Not expecting Pigeon to last more than a week as a neonate Nosferatu, he wasn't very clandestine about his identity. Finding him and making him pay for what he did to her is on Pigeon's new post-bucket bucket list.

Andrew Hudson: Father

Celebrity playboy millionaire embraced by a Toreador man at 25 in the Summer of 1980, Andrew is anything but subtle. Still holding large, lavish parties and irresponsibly showing off his vampiric nature to fans, he's been wanted silenced by the Camarilla for almost two decades. He surrounds himself with bodyguards, and with his circle of influence and wealth he became near impossible for them to reach without risking the masquerade. When he came forward about having a daughter he supposedly cared for, sights were set on Pigeon to show him he wasn't invincible.

Tracy Kenney: Mother

A mechanic from Arizona, met Andrew on a Spring break trip in 1980. They had a short fling, but she returned home with no intention of contacting him in the future. 5 months later, she realized that she was pregnant and unable to contact him for support. She raised Pigeon alone and taught her the ins and out of cars and motorcycles- as well as the truth about her father when she was old enough to hear it. Pigeon emailed her for four years after her embrace, unable to let go.

Story

Family

Her mother, Tracy, was a mechanic from Arizona. She met celebrity millionaire Andrew Hudson at a party on a Spring break trip to LA, and they hit it off for the week. While fun, she wasn’t interested in pursuing an actual relationship with him and returned home with no plans to contact him again. Five months later, she would learn she was pregnant- but she was mysteriously unable to contact him at all. After consulting with her devoutly Catholic mother, she kept the child.

Her father, unbeknownst to Tracy, had been embraced by the Toreador clan a month after their fling. While he was instructed to lay low, he was eccentric and flamboyant by nature and refused to stop making public appearances. Despite being thought dead for a year, he came back as flashy as ever. He still kept up his playboy persona and certainly did not shy away from cameras and journalists. At one point, likely in a plea for attention, he acknowledged his illegitimate child, shocking news outlets. He feigned legitimate sincerity in talking about his regret for abandoning them, and tabloids ate it up.

Tracy received the money she was owed for child support and then some. While disgusted by his silence on the topic in her time of need, she put the money into her garage and her business boomed. She did not want the attention from the coverage, though, and did her best to shelter Pigeon from it. Nobody outside of her father’s circle really knew of their connection, but it wasn’t exactly a watertight secret.

The Camarilla was, needless to say, displeased with his actions and believed he was a danger to the masquerade. The reveal of his child had provided them with a point of leverage, though. If they could find that child he loved so much, they might have something they could use to shut him up- at least for a while.

Whatever threats they made to him were ignored, though. He shut out those he did not care to talk to, and his wealth made sending assassins particularly difficult. He knew the dangers, and kept heavy security detail. With no family ties beyond his child, the Camarilla was left with no other options but to target Pigeon. Even with advance warning of this, he did nothing to stop them.

Natural Life

Childhood

Pigeon’s childhood was relatively without incident. She never showed much interest in her mom’s work until high school, when her friend group suddenly became very interested in hot rods and cool bikes. She begged her mom to teach her everything she knew, and Tracy obliged. By her senior year of high school she could change her own oil and fix a flat in less than a minute. She was proud of her skills, and it brought her closer together with her mother. Their dad had always been a point of contention in their relationship, and Pigeon never understood why her mother was so tight-lipped about who he was. It frustrated her to no end, but this new shared interest was an important bridge in their relationship.

On Pigeon’s 20th birthday, her mom would confide in her the truth about her father. It wasn’t exactly a shock, but it was still disappointing to learn that the mysterious man she had been hoping to meet all her life was, in actuality, just a rich, chauvinist LA douchebag.

Adulthood

At 25, Pigeon bought her first motorbike. She had been working as a mechanic for years, keenly saving up for a nice model she had had her eye on since high school. She kept in touch with her friends from back then, and was incredibly hyped to learn one of her friends signed onto a popular band. Sure, Pigeon didn’t care for their music, but this was a celebrity connection she now had that she actually cared about. She dropped everything to travel with the group on motorbike across the West coast for the band’s first tour. She enjoyed being a groupie, but she loved the free road even more. Sleeping somewhere different every night, living life to the fullest by day, it was a dream come true for her. It was the freedom she had been looking for all her life, and she was loving every second of it.

Embrace

As they traveled, the group got larger. One guy in particular took a liking to Pigeon. Not the most handsome person in the world, the pale man stood around her height and dressed in all black. Mysterious and brooding wasn’t her type, but damn was he a scary guy to be seen with. He didn’t exactly travel with them, but would always be around by morning. This man was almost obsessed with her, constantly asking questions. She liked to tease him, answering only the ones she thought would make her seem more mysterious and interesting. She wasn’t interested, but couldn’t deny she enjoyed the attention. She told him about her crazy rich dad one night in LA, and that’s when he made his move.

Maybe it was the alcohol, the fact that all her friends were hooking up with other guys that night, or sympathy for the poor guy who obviously had never been with a woman in his life. Pigeon followed him to his pad, which was a surprisingly dingy motel. She really had intended to sleep with him that night, but she got more than she bargained for. Once they were alone, his disguise fell. Where the attractive, gothic looking twenty-something once stood was now a gangly beast with large fangs. She tried to run, but the door wouldn’t budge. She was trapped.

He took his time explaining the situation to her. That her father was in trouble, and that he had received warning that if they found Pigeon she would be embraced by the Nosferatu. An ironic fate for the child of such a glamorous, wealthy Toreador. The beast of a man seemed to be taking pleasure in the cruelty of it all. Despite her claims that she knew next to nothing about her dad and that he wouldn’t care, he did not free her. She was turned that night, and the mysterious man was gone when she woke up.

As a Vampire

Embrace cont.

It took five days for her to be fully turned. Through it, she was left alone in that dingy motel room. Not once did her sire check on her, and even stranger- neither did the motel staff. A note was left on the door explaining the basics of her condition and informing her of four bloodbags in the motel fridge. She stayed alone in that hotel room for five days, developing a thirst for blood and hiding from her own reflection. In maddening pain and near delirious from isolation, she left and made a break for where she remembered her bike to be parked on the fifth day.

Being in LA, it wasn’t long before another vampire caught sight of her and explained her new “living” situation to her. A Brujah, the woman was less than affable. Almost tackling her off of the street, they didn’t exactly make fast friends. She took Pigeon to a dingy building and caught her up to speed, though. Pigeon was mortified to learn that her kind were known as the Sewer Rats, and weren’t supposed to be seen above-ground. She faced her new future with absolute dread. It was lucky for her, then, that the woman giving her the rundown was responsible for managing several projects within the Camarilla.

Remembering hearing about Pigeon’s past, she was willing to offer her a job opportunity to test her mettle a year later. Several shady deliveries after, Pigeon’s love of adventure and skilled driving landed her a nice position as a courier. In a blacked out Nissan, she travels the American Southwest by night carrying out the Camarilla’s dirty deeds. Though she still finds herself relegated to the sewers in the off times, she gets out enough to maintain her humanity and keep herself from being overwhelmed by the sad realities of life underground.

Nickname

“Pigeon” was a doting name given to her by an old boyfriend. Even though she left him, she liked the quaintness and resilience associated with the name. A friend of hers called her it to taunt her one day and it stuck within her friend group, who admittedly just all wanted cool biker nicknames. After her embrace, she began to go by it exclusively to help her move on from her old life. She was being forced to start over in LA, and the less people that could associate her with her father the better.

Residence

Unsurprisingly, Pigeon dwells in the storm drains below Los Angeles. She lives beneath a parking garage in an area that doesn't see much traffic, so she always has a place to park her car that won't draw any suspicion. It is owned by the Camarilla, and afforded to her by her position as a regional courier. Her space is a large supply closet cleared out when the Camarilla took ownership, with a small mat on the floor for sleeping and a triple locked metal door fitted for safety. She has a cheap laptop that connects to an outlet as well, but it doesn't see much use in modern nights because of the Second Insquisition's surveillance methods. Lahore has a nice custom rat-sized dog bed in the corner.

Hunting

Pigeon isn't picky when it comes to feeding. Slinking in the shadows, she will get her fill from whoever is unlucky enough to be out alone at night. She isn't a killer, and errs on the side of caution. She knows she can always get more blood, as her targets aren't always the most desirable in vampiric society.

Cryptophilia

As a member of the Nosferatu clan, Pigeon has an intrinsic desire to monitor and keep secrets. This manifests in her taking frequent and risky trips up to the streets to people watch at night. She doesn’t look for anybody in particular, but tries to keep a close eye on important looking faces and city ongoings.

Courier

While not one to pick sides in vampiric politics, she makes a decent unlife as a package courier for the Camarilla. Her background in mechanics and driving make her perfect for dodging the Second Inquisition on the highways of the American southwest. She and Lahore (a rat she met her first week as a neonate vampire and ghouled) look out for each other on the road. Pigeon has come to be known as a very reliable tool to the Camarilla. She doesn't ask too many questions, and she doesn't know enough to be an operational security threat. The irony of the job title is not lost on her.
