F aruq is entrusted with a dangerous responsibility. He views his power with a deep distrust, afraid of what he may do with such a terrible thing when he feels so lost in his life. Determined to find someone who may know a thing about this strange power, Faruq had spent much of his years searching for someone to give answers. Someone who could lead him and keep people safe.
Dr. Verity is far from someone who could keep anyone safe. Faruq follows him, to the ends of the Earth, anyway.

Mind Control (+)
Regulus's gift to Faruq is the ability to control the mind of another living being upon having physical contact with them, mandating their actions with a simple thought. A subject is under Faruq's complete control, serving any orders he may command, until he either willingly lets go or he is in a state where he can't hold control (knocked out, poison, intoxication).
Mind Control (-)
The downside to controlling someone is that the subject essentially becomes an extension of Faruq. Any pain that may come to the subject while mind controlled, whether it be physical or mental, Faruq will feel it just as much as if it were happening to himself. As such, he is generally not inclined to use his control powers in combat. That doesn't mean he isn't ordered to do such things.

Relations
Faruq dedicates his whole being to Dr. Verity. Seeing him as above most people among humanity, Faruq follows Dr. Verity's every word, every sickening experiment, even if he knows it is wrong. He has even sworn an oath to never use his powers against Dr. Verity. How sweet.
Faruq resented Vellian throught its entire existence. He grew jealous over how fixated Dr. Verity became over making sure Vellian was the perfect test subject. Perhaps that is why he may have been overly "clumsy" when Vellian was making its escape, and lousy in his efforts to search for it.
