Spiderlily in the Shade

"I've never wanted this. I wanted to help my clan instead of sitting here useless!"

Ever since being a little kit, Lycoris'kit has always looked up to the warriors of her clan. She'd wake up every dawn to watch the patrol leave, just to ask them about every detail when they came back. And when the day came for Lycoris to finally receive her role, she was certain to not disappoint her 'role models' and become a great warrior.

"You shall be called Lycoris'paw from this day on, and may you learn to serve your clan with healing, by the paws of your ment............." As Lycoris' leader explained her new role, everything around her went quiet. Healer? No.. It can't be..

A couple moons later, Lycoris'paws mentor unfortunately died under mysterious circumstances. She was named Lycoris'jade by the leader and took the full role of healer on her. She hated it; watching her clanmates leave for patrols, come back with the best hunting or fighting stories. She felt like she was failing her clan and her dream.

But now that she was off the leash from her mentor, she was able to finally go out without anybody following her. She followed after the morning hunting patrol, mimicking their moves and proudly catching some prey. Surely she knew the basics of hunting and fighting, but she wanted to get as good as her clanmates, so it wouldnt feel like they were taking care of her.

Back at camp, a warrior named Aspen'shade came over to Lycoris' den. He explained seeing her following them, and other patrols often. And he offered to take her out camp so he could show her the cool places he's seen. Lycoris happily agreed, and the two grew close a little too fast for the clan's liking.

Their leader caught the two outside camp together, laying in the grass and watching the stars. She accused them of breaking the warrior code. Shocked, Lycoris defended herself and Aspen, her leader couldnt be serious right now! But unfortunately for them, the leader, very strict on the warrior code, exiled the two.

Aspen blamed Lycoris for his exile out of anger. The two split, Lycoris renamed herself Spiderlily in the Shade. She chose this because the spiderlily is known for "final goodbye's". However she was certain she'd meet Aspen again, and also certain Canyonclan would soon realise their mistake.
