Demeanour

Habitual, frank and curious; Kingfisher is a bit of a nerd who loves to learn and help others but who finds it hard to handle unexpected plans or unforseen troubles.

She's easy to work with and get along well with others but can come off as a bit distracted or unbothered when it comes to personal matters or idle conversations as she's very keen on either doing her duties or get time to go back to her own interests.

At the end of the day though Kingfisher works very hard to provide for the clan, and he especially enjoys testing and gathering plants for the healers to use. He enjoys his alone time and is known to be very wise and mature for his age.

Design

He's connected to the Belted Kingfisher and the Sacred kingfisher; representing his identity and design. Her own experience extends beyond just gender by nature and is something she's still exploring and finding in her personality and spirit, hence it's representation of two different breeds from the same specie rather than two genders of the same breed.

The patterns and fur type is reminiscent of Windchime's and Bluejay's family, it was the first noticable hint at Kingfisher's heritage leading back to Wingedclan.

Design Notes
  • He owns a little fish bait which was given to him by his father.
  • A relatively short and slender build, she looks a lot younger than she is.
  • He carries alittle makeshift leaf bag folded up to store dried herbs.
  • Likes to wear different flowers and plants, especially waterlilies.

BACKGROUND

Origin

Living with her father and named by her two-legs; Kingfisher grew up with no other kits her age and thus often entertained herself by exploring the garden and with time the whole village and outskirts of the forests surrounding it.

Even if no cat ever directly spoke of it, Kingfisher experienced the occasional questioning stare, curious glance or hestistant reply whenever strangers or neighbor-cats alike got a proper look or sniff of him. Even if he felt secure in himself it didn't help him feel less alone.

Kingfisher's father had told stories of a clan his ancestors once came from before becoming kittypets and he was always captivated by the idea of living freely in the wast open world. As fate would have it, the ideas would become reality in due time and it all began the day she met Windchime.

The new and strange cat had lived there for a short while and Kingfisher could tell something was different about him, other than his extravagant behaviour of course. She was fascinated to learn of his origin and they also quickly became acquaintances, mostly due to her being the only one willing to listen to his chatter and him following Kingfisher around during the days.

A new beginning

It had been a few moons of knowing each other when Windchime had expressed a change of heart, and was ready to return back to his home. With a tone of sorrow and envy Kingfisher explained the news to his father, who in return suggested she went with her friend.

Managing to catch up just in time; Kingfisher joined Windchime by the village outskirts and one long journey and one long session of blabbering from Windchime later they had reached the Wingedclan territory.

Kingfisher and Windchime both received warm welcomes as they arrived and both settled in well. Alhtough she felt overwhelmed and scared of the new unknown future, she was excited to learn and explore and whole new kind of life among so many new faces.

Current

Kingfisher showed great skill in gathering plants of all kinds to provide for the healers, and learned quickly when it came to hunting and patrols too. He also helped introduce a bunch of new water plants to help heal different wounds and illnesses.

Although a little fearful of Midnightstar, the giant leader was soft and somber when he spoke of a son which Kingfisher had yet to meet. Stating they were much alike and that they'd probably would get along well because Dewdrop too, shared an affinity for water plants.

Windchime still has a habit of following her around to little help. On one hand she can't stand his extravagant idicocy and they'll insult each other constantly but on the other they are seemingly inseperable, bonding on a subconcious level and are more alike than either of them could ever see. However it didn't take long at all for cats around them to notice the similarities, many aren't surpised if they really are blood related.

FRIEND

An odd matchup of clashing personalities and they'll squabble and insult each other on a daily basis, although both knows it deep down never is malicious.

Kingfisher deeply appreciates Windchime even if she'll never admit it. His insouciant and nonchalant nature came with an odd sense of comfort, there were no high expectations and any judgement or worry was only ever surface level and trivial.

CLAN

Kingfisher holds deep gratitude for being taken in and being taught the ways of the warriors, he works hard to contribute with his skills.

He's still in the process of building relations with cats in the clan, although she's settling in well she still find it hard to feel fully belonging
