Ellis Liddell

Liddell has sickly whitish skin and short, uncombed bright red hair, with a slightly stiff affect born out of concentration and chronic pain. Her eyes are similarly red. Dresses in plain, but bold colored office  clothes- never accessorizes. An ambulatory wheelchair user, she uses a navy blue wheelchair with foldable armrests and red wheels most of the time. Also has a dreadful shrimp posture and back pain, but that's mostly because she's very tall.

In terms of raw psychic power, Liddell is prodigal- considered to be on the extreme end of the >99th percentile in terms of psychic ability. However, much of this power is inaccessible due to an incident that occurred in her childhood. When she was about nine, Liddell experienced sudden, unexplained severe respiratory and cardiac failures. Possibly this arose from stroke complications, and as it’s now thought, because of her psychic ability. Technically, she’s still in a state of organ failure, but retains organ function and homeostasis through extensive use of psychic power and medical intervention. The passive and active effort it takes to stay alive has affected all areas of Liddell’s life- her schooling was intermittent and varied in quality, leading her to finish high school several years behind schedule. She attempted college, but dropped out, and soon after found a job with the Psychonauts. Currently Liddell is a part time psychonauts dispatcher who works with a few different agents- most commonly Chanterelle, a friend (and, y'know) of hers. In the event that Chanterelle is in the Motherlobe, they almost always have lunch together, and Liddell much appreciates Chanterelle's calm company, finding the lack of psychic presence comforting. Most of her life is work, rest, or hospital, so most of her hobbies are passive activities- books or tv. Has a reluctant relationship with the scientific department, but grants she wouldn’t have initially gotten the job otherwise.

On casual observation, a seemingly weak psychic with many comorbid issues. Liddell has an extremely weakened form of telekinesis, which is the extent of ther visible powers. However, her telekinesis is also constantly being used to maintain organ function 24/7. She may also have the ability to create psychic constructs, a la big raz. She is unable to use this power, but it’s suspected it’s one of her signature abilities, and might play a part in how she’s able to stay alive.

Liddell’s affect is rather flat and stiff, but her personality shines through in all that she does. Despite her lack of bombastic expression, she’s very articulate and gently encouraging, tending to talk almost as much with her hands as she does with her voice. Her ability to remain calm is a great asset to her work, though her slightly laissez faire attitude could be adjusted. She greatly enjoys books and tv, with a gargantuan collection of both she happily offers to share. Prefers her last name over her first.
