she has a hard time understanding social cues and has a poor sense of direction however she’s really smart, a lot of people believe her to be airheaded/naive. she’s a very caring person, she puts her love into her cooking and cooks for others as a way to show she loves them.
many people in her town are either weirded out by her height and lack of social awareness or are men who are obsessed romantically with her. valera joins meri's crew after they saved her from her arranged marriage.
She was to be forced into a marriage with a man she doesn't love by her mother, (tldr; the man was obsessed with her and used his family's money to bribe Valera's mother into forcing him and Valera to marry, her mother agreed for the money not caring about what her daughter wanted) the man treated her as an object and only wanted her cause she's beautiful. When Meri and Kira ran into her she saw how strong they were and begged them to help her out of her situation which they agreed to.
