How much gold is a life worth?

A mercenary for hire and a past spellsword assassin and soldier. He is a very strange man who often is seen running about if he's spotted at all. Has a habit of just showing up behind people and rarely gives warning aside from his initial requests.


Animal form is antelope with fluffy limbs and tiny claws on  the lower legs. He has a short goat like tail  which appears to have been chopped shorter as well as one broken horn and a plethora of scars. His body is very  skin and bones with scruffy coarse fur.

Emetophobia: HATES any mention or the sight of vomit and generally will never be caught dead in either bars or anywhere it's likely to see or hear such a sight. Even casual talk of illness has his level demeanor shattered and he will flee. It's unknown when or where he developed such a phobia.

Personality



A very vague and odd man, Ghost is particular about who he speaks to and when, and often is used to just popping up like his namesake to request someone’s attention or deliver messages. Hates small talk and generally seems unfriendly or at the very least very disinterested and to the point. Looks worried near constantly or tired and despite his demeanor he is a serious man with a lot of thoughts going through his head. Ghost thinks of what he will say before saying it which may result in extended periods of silence or contemplation, or a lack of response all together. He is also flakey in terms of deals or arrangements that don’t involve money, yet is loyal to those he deems deserve it. Works near exclusively for Yorro and when he does jobs not for his ‘Boss’ the will never be ones that go against him.

Deals with too much on a daily basis since childhood so he can be distant and oddly reacts strongly to any mentions or sight of vomiting and will flee like he’s being chased by a monster.

History


One of many children to some now nameless farming parents, Ghost was taken at a young age to be trained by a sect of mages as a child soldier and spellsword, his magic soon replacing physical blades and weapons. He was rather renowned as a proficient and ruthless killer, and the effects of his time as a soldier linger with him, some say his serpents are ghosts of prominent people he’d killed and after finding a way to escape his predicament he turned to mercenary and scout work. Rarely kills in recent years due to mental fatigue and past demons though he can be persuaded for enough coin. It is also apparent he spent some years following his ‘freedom’ on sailing ships and with pirates, though he hardly speaks of any past before being employed by the Mythwyr as a messenger, and by Yorro as his personal errand boy.

The two are rather close despite their wildly different upbringings and they often have friendly banter and prodding. Ghost feels bad for his Boss’s poor upbringing, the man not knowing his family and finding it sad that those who have their parents may be as unwanted as he was without his own. He has a softspot for children and yet has no known family or kin.

The Bone Serpents are shadow-like creatures that linger on Ghost's body like tattoos.  When summoned they take various forms and are mostly shadowy creatures with blade like bones. The serpents attack with both constriction for the larger creatures and with their blades to cut and serrate anything they come in contact with. The fangs imbue venom to paralyze or kill silently. The poison effects are not detectable as a natural substance.

His smaller serpents can be used liked daggers or blades, able to be thrown or wielded like a standard weapon. He marks them on his body via a extensive ritual which summons the creatures and then they host their shadowy forms over his body, often over old wounds and scars.

Update: [July 18] His increase in power and discipline allow the bone serpents to remain shadowy and concealed for larger spans of time, giving the creatures advantage of surprise or to get closer to their targets. Their poisons and blades are also more efficient and deadly.

Costs

  • Magic use reduces the caster's mobility or reflexes.- using the tattoos  immobilizes or numbs the limb they draw from, in the case of the left arm serpent, it also steals Ghosts voice as it wraps around his neck. Using  the chest or stomach may cause him to feel faint or increase his heart  rate or cause illness. The marks on the left wrist bring about  autonomous shadow daggers or blade fish.
