He acts like a pathetic wet rat to avoid getting on powerful people's radars. Despite his line of work, he's a coward who wishes to avoid confrontation at all costs. But he can defend himself if backed into a corner.

He considers himself close friends with Yángméi, who would deny it to anyone who asked. Yángméi says their relationship is purely professional, but they spend too much time in each other's company for that to be true. He also considers Jiànlín a friend, which the other man begrudgingly accepts.
