HERALD OF CHAOS

A half-Danaeira and half-Nymhreis who hails from Hvres. Veneth’s mother was a famed entertainer with Vatrian roots, while his father was a prominent Sacrist assigned to Hvres. In fact, his paternal side was rather well-known in the Creed of Cithri for being the oldest bloodline to have ever served the gods. However, their reputation was tarnished when his uncle—spurned by his inability to become an oracle—began revering the chaos beast Chairath and formed a cult. Since the strength of a god’s powers partly depends on the mortals’ veneration, the cult strengthened Chairath and brought instability to the three planes. The pandemonium they caused led to indirect hatred towards Veneth, his father, as well as his entire paternal line for his uncle’s misdeeds. The Creed of Cithri ostracized them and stripped his father from his position, and the notoriety forced Veneth and his family to flee to Ahkard.

After the Mordien and Chairath’s coalition, Veneth can still feel the public’s resentment for just bearing his father’s surname. He takes on his mother’s surname—Zauvrin—after his father’s death, but Veneth still has trouble accepting his Danaeiran side, thanks to the war instigated by the Vatrian royal house of Nerva decades prior. Unsure of what to do, he leads an aimless life in Akhard— studying subjects of all sorts, but sticking with nothing. However, this changes when he crosses paths with Elian. He recognizes Veneth as the son of the Sacrist who tended Draidan’s sanctum and, knowing his family’s prior reputation and their ties to Chairath, Elian offers Veneth to become his oracle. Confused yet honored by the proposal, Veneth accepts, but not in hopes of restoring his family’s former glory. If Veneth were to win back the favor of the gods, he might as well handle it himself, but his plans are thwarted when he encounters a Mordrcal who shares his father’s last name.
