Fenric is a young, 120-year, old wood elf. He’s from an isolated relatively small village of only 60-100 people each with their jobs and such. Fenric grew up idolizing his parents his father hailed from a line of clerics, but in the advent of divination magic disappearing his father turned towards druid magic still desiring a pursuit of magic and healing others. Fenric’s mother was a very talented ranger and huntress who would help defend the village from threats, animals, raiders, and more in addition to bringing back food from hunting trips into the woods. Fenric’s life was spent trying to achieve a balance between his father’s medicinal legacy as well as his mother’s ranger abilities and duties. Fenric would often go on hunting trips with his mother, on one such trip Fenric lead the way back to the village returning before she did.

As the sun began to set an angered blue dragon descended upon the village, killing indiscriminately, setting houses ablaze with it’s lightning breath and tearing down people and buildings alike with it’s claws. Fenric, being naïve to the true danger that was before him felt that this was his chance to live up to his mother’s legacy of protecting the village. So, Fenric stood tall, readying himself before firing an arrow off at the dragon. An arrow which seemed to do nothing but anger the proud beast who became even more enraged that some lowly elf would dare try to attack him whilst the others fled, as the dragon felt they should. Lightning crackled between the sharp teeth of the dragon as he readied a blast of dangerous breath to smite the boy, however as the dragon was ready to release this blast, an arrow flew and hit him in a weak area, just beneath the beast’s eye knocking to the ground a precious scale and angering the dragon even further. This happened as the blast from the dragon was about to be fired, the hit caused the dragon to flinch, causing the hit to shift, hitting/skimming Fenric along his right-hand side rather than directly on his chest. As the pain surged and Fenric felt the lightning fractal through his skin Fenric stumbled back collapsing into a nearby water trough meant for the convenience of the town’s horses. The last thing he remembered before losing consciousness was seeing the great beast turn towards his mother, the owner of the arrow who would dare mar his otherwise magnificent visage, and fire off a long and angry blast of lightning.

When Fenric finally awoke once more, all that remained of the village was ash, rubble, and the smell of death. The dragon had long since gone, why it had been there to begin with he did not know. He managed to stabilize himself with the magic learned from his father, however his body now bore horrible lightning scars on his right-hand side, from his ribcage, over part of his chest, his right arm, and even creeping up to his jawline. Fenric, having never seen a dragon before picked up all that he could of the beast- the lone scale that had fallen by his mother’s arrow. With that he set off, scale in hand and mission in his heart, to find out everything he could about these beasts as well as how to kill them, in particular-the monster who had taken everything from him. While on his travels he learned more about the disappearance of divination magic, of which he had only heard a few vague stories from his father in the past. Realizing the gods might be able to be reawaken, he felt a hope that his village and its people could be restored once more.

Several years after he had set off on his personal quest during a particularly harsh winter Fenric, who was usually comfortable staying outside in the woods and such, decided to stay at a tavern for the night. It was here that he would meet a certain young half-elf girl, Nia, after she attempted to steal his precious scale from him, as he used to keep it around his neck as a pendant. From there the two have travelled together, Nia having an interest in his mission to take revenge on the dragon and his adventure. (For further details please regard Nia’s story) Leading up towards the current day campaign.
