Abel ███████ was born in the poorer part of Ascot, right on the border of Xale. His sole caretaker was ███████, his older sister, after their father walked out and their mother went to prison. He's not sure if she loved him or not. He doesn't remember.
He dreamt of being an astronomer. He wanted to see the stars.
He spent his formative years heavily bullied for being the son of a criminal.
He never did anything wrong, he was just unlucky.
At fifteen years old, he reached for the stars and leapt from his school roof. He regret it at the last moment, but succumbed to his injuries at now closed Hope General Hospital in Xale.
His regret at the very end of his life is what allowed him to linger as a ghost, albeit a wispy husk of one, without any memory. He wandered aimlessly for three years before meeting Eliot Liu, who named him Vesper. He haunted him for five years afterwards. Eliot's affinity passively strengthened Vesper's corporeality, and he began to regain spotty memories of his life.
This all came to a head when he and Eliot went to the then abandoned Hope General Hospital to free a rumored spirit there. Vesper became a poltergeist, projecting his memories across the hospital. Eliot confronted him, and Vesper was able to move on.
