Childhood

From a young age, Jun is captivated by the beauty and the mystery of his surroundings. His parents encourage his early passion for Pokemon; his father takes him on flights around the region and his mother invites him to her training school, where Jun meets all type of trainers and Pokemon from around the world.

Jun's favorite thing to do, however, is to spend hours exploring the Great Marsh with his friends and siblings. They frequently go on mini adventures together, searching for hidden Pokemon nests, discovering secret pathways, and trying to find yet undiscovered Pokemon (which they are not successful in).

When Jun is seven, he watches Mamoru go off on his adventure. While he waits for his turn, he studies up on different Pokemon types and all the regions in the world. By the time he turns ten, he has his eyes set on a particular Pokemon for his first partner: a Fletchling.

Early Teens

Jun's father takes him on a trip to the Kalos region to catch his very first Pokemon. With his help, Jun catches and names Kez the Fletchling. He is so eager to start his journey that he tries to say goodbye to his father right there and then in Santalune Forest. His father insists on at least taking him in to town and getting him set up before letting him go off on his own.

Jun and Kez travel through Kalos together for a few months, meeting and adding Bandit and Nox to their team. When Jun's sister Chiharu turns ten, Jun returns to Pastoria City with Mamoru to help her catch her first Pokemon. After that, Jun and Chiharu begin traveling together. They don't stay in one region for long periods of time, preferring to bounce all around as their whims take them.

Later Teenage Years

When Jun is seventeen, he and Chiharu part ways. He makes new trainer friends while traveling but doesn't keep a consistent traveling companion. By this time, his team is fairly solidified, which a focus on speed and agility. He remains focused on his goal of competing in Pokemon Championships but dabbles a little in the Pokemon Contest circuit.  

This is when he first meets Nadiya Som, his eventual girlfriend and later wife. Nugget, now having evolved into a Frosmoth, takes the victory over one of Nadiya's Pokemon. Nadiya, a renowned Pokemon Coordinator, is very offended at having lost to someone who enters contests "just for fun!" and makes it a goal to beat Jun, who has no idea what he has done. She attempts to challenge him again but has trouble doing so because 1) Jun frequently changes his destination at the last minute and so they end up in different towns; and 2) Jun infrequently enters contests and so even if they end up in the same town, she doesn't have the opportunity for rematch. She ends up becoming one of his more constant traveling companions, just so she can better set up a rematch.

Adult

Jun continues his erratic travels, going where the wind takes him. Nadiya manages to stick with him for almost a year until she finally gets her rematch (and wins). By this point, she has fallen for him. Jun, oblivious to her feelings, continues as he always does. When she confesses, he is completely caught off guard. In a panic, he calls for his sister Chiharu and her boyfriend Lysander to join them in order to act as a buffer.

Jun's delay in answering her angers Nadiya and she leaves, refusing to speak to him. In her absence, Jun realizes how much he has come to rely on her. Chiharu scolds him and Jun rushes to make amends. After some minor groveling, Nadiya accepts his apologies and they begin dating.

In his mid 20s, Jun enters the Vertress Conference in the Unova Region. Though he comes close, he and his team ultimately are defeated before they reach the finals. However, his showing impresses Gym Leader Skyla, who offers to mentor him. Eventually, when she retires, Jun takes over the Mistralton Gym.

He and Nadiya eventually marry. They have a son and a daughter, born almost a decade apart.

Mamoru Hara

Relationship: Brother

One of Jun's earliest memories is playing with Spirit, his mother's retired Vaporeon. His second earliest memory is seeing Mamoru crying over Spirit's passing. Jun remembers trying to cheer Mamoru up, and he remembers struggling to make him smile again. 

Jun adores Mamoru and looks up to him. He admires his older brother's calm demeanor, especially in battle, and wants to be just like him.

Chiharu Hara

Chiharu and Jun are like two peas in a pod. As they are only about a year and a half apart in age, they grow up closely together. Jun remembers Mamoru smiling at Chiharu after he holds her for the first time; forever afterward, Jun is thankful for Chiharu being born. 

After Jun goes off on his adventure, he misses Chiharu so much that when she comes of age, he returns so that they can travel together. Their journeys are filled with bickering and laughter, just like their early childhood days.
