Albinistic!Spyro

TLOS AU where Spyro is albinistic/leucistic (and still a purple dragon) and Cynder is melanistic. 

Spyro  is extremely photosensitive and gets sunburned easily, and has extremely bad eyesight, in addition to partial D(d?)eafness and reduced elemental powers (my headcanon is that the genes for elemental powers in dragons are linked to the genes for pigment; therefore, little/no pigment = little/no elemental powers. Because he’s a purple nurple, he still has Aether/Convexity and Dragon Time.)  Despite this, he is still the same incredibly tenacious,  hypercompetent, adorkable dragon we all know and love. However, he does need accommodations, such as a battle buddy to compensate for his eyesight + Deafness (this is where Sparx, and eventually, Cynder, come in), sunscreen (often mud, since he grew up in the swamp), eye and skin  coverings (he starts off ANB with a leaf cape and goggles his mom made him, then graduates to a cloak/hoodie/jacket chainmail thing Volteer  makes him by TEN).  He is most active at night when his eyes hurt less, which is one thing he and Cynder agree on.

Cross-eyed

Learns Shadow from Cynder to cover himself from the sun...and because it's fun. 

Body type can be described as "potato on toothpicks"

Big paws, slightly webbed

Can use Electricity or Earth to feel his way

Drew him with 5 digits (4 toes + thumb claws) on each limb previously, now draw him with 4 (3 toes + thumb claw)

Spyro

• Ignitus is totally his dad
• No, seriously, albinism runs in Ignitus’s family in this AU and there is literally nobody else who could be Spyro’s father
• Spyro’s wing shape is based off that of accipiter hawks
• has lots of dark spots on his skin from running around outdoors for years without sun protection
  
• never quite lost his baby fat
• as mentioned in other posts,  he has terrible eyesight, and so uses the Earth or Electricity elements to feel his way
• usually wearing googles, cloak, or some other form of covering
• squints a lot and shields his eyes with his wings
  
• During DOTD in the Valley of Avalar, Cynder starts teaching Spyro the Shadow element so he can shield himself from the sun
• usually  best described as “dirt-colored” due to his dark spots and his habit of rolling in mud as sunscreen
• eyes are violet/cornflower blue with scarlet pupils
• thinks that sunrises/sunsets are pretty but hates that they hurt his eyes
• really likes water
• grew up in a swamp, and so associates “eu de dead fish and rotting marsh grass” with home
• hiding style can best be described as…”interesting” 
• he can’t use traditional hiding techniques because he sticks out like a sore thumb, and so has to get “creative”
